Brave of Williams to call him out, but unless Calzaghe has lost it in his short time retired, or he had severe problems making weight, I think Joe takes this one.

That has to be a record at lhw, and he probably holds the record at smw too. Calzaghe and Williams both have great stamina, that is why that fight is interesting. But even if Calzaghe did come out of retirement for that fight I doubt he'd want to go down to super-middle weight. He'd ask Paul to come up to LHW, and honestly I can't see paul fighting at LHW.

I think people are getting a little desperate to hype williams up, it was a good win but he didn't really show anything to lead me to belive he would be able to beat one of the greatest fighters of the last 10 years in joe calzaghe. Maybe if he gets a few more wins that may be feasable, but just because he is american doesn't automatically mean he would be able to school joe calzaghe.

He threw 948, according to compubox on Lacy and landed a third of them.

You should give an honest answer regardless of whether you like a fighter or not.

My opinion: you don't get as far as Calzaghe and end up getting beaten by the likes of Paul Williams at a weight he's never fought at. No disrespect to Paul, I like the guy a lot, but he would get bitchslapped all over the ring and beaten by experience.

Paul did well tonight, I liked his performance. Winky should retire.

Thnak you for reminding me of that ONE Kessler fight....and that Im a dumbass.....since you say Calzaghe would be the bigger physical fight....even at the same weight.....ummmm Calzaghe is not a power fighter he hasn't KO'd anyone since 2005 wich was Veit but that stopage of Manfredo dont count that was just given to him since it was in Wales....he would have won for sure but early stopage from amount of slaps

You said "Calzaghe has never thrown over 1000 punches in a 12 round fight"
I proved that he has, and he reached the high 900's against Jones and Lacy. Williams would have to move up to 175 to fight Calzaghe, when Calzaghe will be the physically stronger fighter, being able to muscle him on the inside AND putting the extra 15 lbs on will decrease the speed of Williams and Joe is already a fast LHW with excellent Stamina.

I said Williams has the advantage in power didn't I anyway? It still doesn't discount the fact that Calzaghe will have the weight advantage.

BoxRec warrior. You didn't realize Calzaghe is a high-volume puncher who averages 1000 punches per fight yet you know when he last knocked someone out? Just admit you only saw a couple of Calzaghe fights and decided to run along with the rest of the sheep here.

                    "Look it up!"

I gotta get my man TalkBoxing on your ass now.

Are you insinuating that P. Will slaps?
