Maybe Americans do, non-Americans just want to be champion of the world. The only American venue that would excite a non-American is Madison Square Garden, and that's not because it's American, it's because of who else has fought there and the great fights they had.

Precisely, and as we know MSG is located in the States.

Hatton as an example wanted to come over here and fight under the lights of Vegas. You should know this.

Really this doesnt need to be debated. Have you ever seen me post up about how America is so much better than every country and our boxers are better? I couldnt care less, I like fighters from all over.

I like Its just fact that MSG and Vegas are the most world renown places to fight. Therefor I am willing to bet that more young fighters who dream to be champion picture themselves fighting in the States.

Also, you may debate this as well, but honestly the States being a country with mixed nationalism and many different races is probably a much more comfortable setting for most fighters(wherever they are from) than going to a country such as Germany or England where the hometown crowd, refs, and judges, may be more partial to their hometown fighters.

I am not saying there arent exceptions on both sides getting fair or unfair end of the stick here or there. Just saying "in general" with the melting pot here Im willing to bet a fighter from a different country would get alot less boo's here than most places, making it a little more ideal for a foreign fighter.

Keep in mind I did state there are exceptions.

Hatton wanted to fight in the States at some point, but he's more excited about fighting at home in front of his own supporters. He was pissed off that he had to fight Pac in the States, when he could have filled an 80,000 seat stadium if they'd fought in the UK. The atmosphere would have been incredible if they'd fought at somewhere like Wembley. And if it had to be in the States, he wanted it to be at MSG, but he lost on that one, too.

Most boxers who are not from the States are willing to travel and would like to have a few big fights in the States but in general are more excited about fighting at home in front of their own supporters, because it's exciting to have thousands of supporters cheering for you.

Froch wanted to fight Taylor in Nottingham but Taylor refused, even though it was Froch who had the belt, and even though Taylor was offered more money to fight him here than he was offered to fight him in the States. So Froch was forced to take the fight in the States, if he wanted to fight Taylor at all (which he did) - which sucks. I've lost a lot of respect for Taylor because of that. Froch would be excited about fighting at MSG but not anywhere else in the States.

And there are lots of immigrants in the UK and Germany. Manny was overwhelmed by the number of Filipino supporters who came to cheer him during his recent UK promotional tour.

Regarding the hometown refs and judges issue, the obvious solution is for all title fights to have international refs and judges, and I don't understand why that isn't compulsory.

Finally, don't forget that whereas if a fight is in Europe that means it has to be screened in the afternoon in the States, if a fight is in the States, it has to be screened at around 5am in Europe - so in terms of total viewers, the average fan is much better off if a fight between an American and European boxer is staged in Europe.

I think Paul would bust Abraham up. Abraham likes to sleep too much and paul would go to town on him.

Pavlik is a different dynamic. Paul could beat him if he concentrated on his speed and angles and avoided warring it up, but he loves to lean in and fight, which could land him in a lot of trouble against pavlik. If Paul fought smart, he could make pavlik look painfully slow, but he loves to rumble and Pavlik can be a dangerous mofo.

Right now, Williams would eat Abraham alive. Pavlik he can beat also, but he has to keep Pavlik from getting into the fight like Hopkins did. I don't know if he can do that as he loves to mix it up.

As usual after a Williams win, the bandwagoning begins.

I don't see him beating either guy but I don't see him fighting either guy. After the fight with Pavlik got called off, I doubt Arum will be willing to go through that again and AA isn't going to be at 160 for too long, I hope i'm wrong though, I want either fight to happen or a fight with Sturm.

A fighter with the right style can beat Williams.

                    But who?

Who wouldnt be? Unfortunately for him as I stated earlier people would rather fight here because it is more neutral turf. Think about why Vegas has the most fights. Why would Pac want to fight in Wembley in front of 80,000 drunk brits when he could fight comfortably in Vegas with half his crowd and half of Hattons, no way 40,000 Filipinos are going to England. I was at the Hatton/Castillo fight in Vegas and it was the worst atmosphere and display of sportsmanship I have ever witnesses with all the Hatton fans booing the Mexican and American national anthems and singing their ****** Hatton song all obnoxious and ****. Really left a bad taste in my mouth. If I was Pac Id much rather make 10 million and fight in the states than 12 million and have to fight there. Doesnt mean he scared just means he can call the shots for what he wants

Most boxers who are not from the States are willing to travel and would like to have a few big fights in the States but in general are more excited about fighting at home in front of their own supporters, because it's exciting to have thousands of supporters cheering for you.

Obviously everyone wants to fight at home, but unless you have more bargaining chips than who youre fighting you must compromise.

Froch wanted to fight Taylor in Nottingham but Taylor refused, even though it was Froch who had the belt, and even though Taylor was offered more money to fight him here than he was offered to fight him in the States. Froch needs Taylor more than Taylor needs Froch. Plain and simple. Taylor obviously didnt care enough about the fight or the belt. Doesnt mean hes scared, it means he doesnt needs the fight that much and has plenty of options.

And there are lots of immigrants in the UK and Germany. Manny was overwhelmed by the number of Filipino supporters who came to cheer him during his recent UK promotional tour.

Didnt say there wasnt. But are you saying England would be more comfortable for Manny than the states? Doubt it. Guess Im not getting your point.

Regarding the hometown refs and judges issue, the obvious solution is for all title fights to have international refs and judges, and I don't understand why that isn't compulsory.

                      Agreed

Yes but again, HBO, Showtime.....these are American companies and like it or not the States make the world go round. Sure the Mayweather/Hatton fight had more ppv sales in the UK than the US but generally speaking most fights on those channels the majority of the revenue comes from the US. Not trying to sound like and ignorant American ****head but it is what it is.
The States is more appealing to fight in than anywhere else because we accept everyone.
