Anybody else think EA doesn't know **** about boxing?

this game is for the common fan who knows tyson and thats all
they dont care about hard core boxing fans who also enjoy a good video game

i don't care about north america or europe if your a top fighter of this era you should be in the game, **** tyson and ali madden is not built around montana and marino and nba live is not built around wilt chamberlin so why does fight night put so much into old fighters

Well, this ain't Madden and boxing is not football. If you haven't heard, boxing as a whole is on a serious decline from its glory days. I think it makes all the sense in the world to focus on two of the most popular boxers of all time to try to sell the game. Casual fans barely know who Manny Pacquiao or Ricky Hatton is, and they are the two biggest active fighters in the sport (assuming DLH retires)! I think EA has been kind to give us hardcore boxing fans Kelly Pavlik and Victor Ortiz, but at the end of the day casual and former boxing fans (which is the majority of Fight Night's consumers), will want to play as Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali.

Its up to each boxer to accept an invitation into the game and they all want a cut.....boxing is its own entity not like NFL and Madden where you are under an umbrella contract.....so certain fighters might say no or just ask for too much money! I dont think its a biased american game because its a canadian company making this game!

i mean how do u put in tommy morrison and not evander holyfield?? how do u put in duran,hagler,leonard and not hearns?? i also believe they are very biased, putting in american fighters only...calvin brock instead of klitschko..

The only sports game that the ratings are even close to correct is Madden and the baseball games.
NBA live is a damn joke only the superstars are above 60%.
I'm pretty sure the soccar game is way off and the hockey games I know a few players that should be better 'don't watch it though so.

They have to pay each and every single fighter that is in the game. People dont do it for free. Some guys want to much money and if the company doesnt feel they are worth that kind of money, they will pass on them. I dont blame them. This is why we have never seen guys like Barry Bonds, Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson in video games, they want to much. Well after tecmo that is.

Its up to the right to come to an agreement with the company. I would think everyone would want all their fav boxers in the game, but its just not that easy. especially in todays economy.

Because of name recognition. Ali, Tyson, Fraizer, and Lewis sell copies. No one's going to be lining up around the block for the chance to play as Oleg Maskaev.

yea like giving Joe Frazier poor stamina, a rediculous punch and Ali a weak body.
then Corrales, the fastest fighter in the game.....and the ever weak punching Hopkins..
