But I feel ya, its dumb but it'll make headlines. Plus Adamek might take the bait and call Jones out (again).
I hear ya too man. But the bottom line is I see it like this. This is world competitive sport, boxing.

All were getting here is localisation and $$$$'s the excuse for not getting the former, world competitive boxing.

Jone's can do better than than being the 3rd man to put another beat down on this guy. He doesn't need to lower himself to this, and still come out looking no better than the other two. That doesn't get him as far as he and some others might think, as far as I'm concerned. He needs to beat Lacy in better form than Taylor to get something out of this.

O I think he will. I think he'll do his normal dancing and playing around to please the crowd. He will toy with Lacy. Lacy cant handle vets that can box. Roy will outclass him and look of the old roy. But not to be fooled we all know its not. I think roy's hungry for a belt. A CW belt. This will keep him busy, make some cash, keep his name out there and he'll look good doing it. Lacy's a house name. I dont think anyones out there with a name and easy pay day like Lacy. So why not. Again I think this is all to do with Ademek anyway... He wants that belt...

Former MW, former SMW, former LHW, former HW and CW champion etc etc......

I think thats what he's looking for if you ask me. He might actually retire after that.... who knows....

Hopefully Taylor takes note of Lacy's performance last night and adjusts his training regimen accordingly... as in "Oh ****, maybe I'm not as good as Jeff made me look in my last fight, I better amp it up for Carl."

Yeah fair points well made. I do find some irony in criticising at least somewhat Calzaghes win over Lacy when he was a much better fighter, but not Roy much when he's much worse and has had 2 big losses though.

It's a shame Roy didn't consider CW to be a genuine division when when he went down from HW to LHW, if had have had a stint there he would've already been a 5 weight champion, not have messed his body up quite so much and go knows what else.

The thing is with Roy and Hops now understandably wanting a belt at CW to close they're careers, is that within they're last few fights they've fought at 170, which is pretty much SMW.

They need to decide what they're doing quick time as they can't plan they're weight and training so well to suite not knowing. In an ideal world both would win a belt at CW, they both deserve it. Good job it won't happen in a way though, otherwise it'd put serious pressure on a Nard Jones rematch, you'd hate to see a loser, and that would be Roy. Nice to see him getting some belief at the top ish level again though, I did say he weren't as shot as most make out, good luck to him.

Let's be clear here.....Lacy was over hyped and overrated but he was also a fearless and fearsome fighter at one point. He just doesn't have that killer instinct anymore or something....he left it in the corner in Wales. I'm sad....today is my day of mourning....lol

I don't think he stands a chance in hell at beating Roy even tho Roy is not all that anymore either.....I still think he can beat Joey Spina tho....lol

Well Jones at the time had Tarver calling him out. Since Tarver was a florida boy he had to set the record straight. Well he kinda did??? lol Anyway he made it a point to fight and win at HW and then move down to LHW to make history. But as stated its all history and his legacy is secure. I don't know about Hops and Jones.... Maybe if Jones gets that C/W belt and looks good doing it. It could very well set up a fight with them two.... and if I was a (gun forced) betting man I would have to go with HOP....

Hopefully its Lacy, Adamek for the CW belt and then a wacky PPV boxing match with the MMA P4P king Silva and then retire doing what only a FEW have achieved in there entire career:

                Become the:
                P4P king
                MW champ
                SMW champ
                LHW champ
                CW champ
                HW champ
beat THE top MMA/UFC champion (Silva) up in a boxing match
get his ass beat by Joe Calzaghe

again not to many fighters could say this! (get there ass beat by joe)!!!

                lol had too.

Really think Jeff's best day's are behind him as elite fighter, fighters who he should be dealing rather easy, seem to be getting harder fights every time out.

I think pre Lacy/Calzaghe would of got Griffin out of there much quicker. Going into this fight Griffin had lost 3 of his last 4 and been stopped all 3 times. But Griffin gave a very good effort and don't take nothing away from him.

I think Roy Jones Jr will have a really good chance of beating Lacy,if they meet.

I would definetly watch Jones vs Lacy. Having family in Tampa I may even go to it. It would definetly be more PPV worthy then Jones/Sheika. As long as no MMA crap was on with it. Jones should hang it up but will fight untill he gets another big fight, beaten badly, or both. He took two fights with lesser fighters in the build up towards the Trinidad fight. Lacy is a good guy to see where Roy is still at.

can we stop with this calzaghe ruined lacy bull. i seem to remember lacy going life and death and winning a controversial decision against omar sheika before he fought calzaghe. sheika and griffin are basically on the same level. nothing has changed. old robin reid isnt around to be rabbit punched.
