    Making Weight is Bull****

Boxing such a ****** ****ing sport in this regard. Last week Valero and Pitalua fought at lightweight but both came in weighing in at welterweight. Hatton just said in an interview that he will weigh in at 140 but come in at 149.
What kind of joke is this?
How bout you fight at the weight you naturally come in. Whats the point of dropping 25 pounds of "in between fight" weight only to put 10 or 15 pounds on after the Friday weigh in.
Its dishonest and only serves to give the alphabets more paper champions and more revenue.
I got an idea. Lets go Lightweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight. Period.
Boxing isnt about weight anyway, its about skill. This has been proven time and time again.
Lets stop bull****ting the public with all the weights when the fighters never come in at the division their supposedly fighting at. Well, actually, Oscar did...and he looked like hell.

    Lightweight-125-150
    Middle-150-185
Heavy-185 and up (Dempsey and Louis weighed 185 and kicked ass on guys 6'6 250+ on a regular basis)

    Problem solved.
And for those who think those weights are too wide. Man up. The heavy weights do it all the time.

I think the better solution would be weigh-ins the day of the fight. Yes, there may be too many weight classes but 3 IMO would be too few.

Iv'e been saying for ages the way some these fighters abuse the weight limit is crazy, you got welterweights coming in at middleweight, super feather and lightweights coming in at welterweight, it can be very dangerous, you can end up with a situation with a boxer coming into a fight a stone heavier than another.

This would simple if everyone had the guts to fight at their correct weight. They should NOT able to fight at a division where they rehydrate over 5 pounds.

Well remember Gatti on his comeback trail before the Ward fights he was fighting at 140 and was coming into the fights at 160. His first two fights back ended with KO's that sent the other guys into retirement, Reyes Munoz and Joey Gamache.

What about all the fights below 125? Boxing would be lame as hell if we went by your method. Mosley vs Hopkins?? no thank you.

First off Dawg, most of the guys that fight under 125 come in at or over 125 on fight night. Darchinyan comes in at around 130 on fight nights. Rafa and Vazquez came in at around 135 for their 3 fights. So check your facts.

Mosley vs. Hopkins you dont want huh? Then dont watch it. But under my system Mosley wouldnt fight Hopkins, Hopkins would be fighting as a middleweight and Mosley as a lightweight.
When have you seen Mosley come in over 160?

If it wasnt for the chick with the big ass on your avatar you'd be completely useless.

It's a necessary evil. They could bring back same-day weigh-ins, but it would just be like everyone moving up a weight class more than an effective solution.

Pavlik usually weighs in well over 160 at fight night.

This would assume you weigh in on the same day, so no Valero wouldnt fight Pavlik.
