He said he wasn't ready to face Marquez yet, (which he isn't), but Warren said he was trying to get him a shot with Marquez by the end of 2009 (which would have been much too quick for Khan, IMO, he needs some learning fights first - but that is what Warren said, a few days after the Barrera fight).

Not sure what you mean - his legs look a lot sturdier than they used to, everyone who has seen him lately says so.

I didn't notice much difference at all, you can't tell with his shorts, I was at the weigh-in anyway and he has very skinny legs, his calf muscles aren't bad, but his quads and general thigh area need some serious work and that does not happen over night, your leg muscles are the hardest to build than any part of your body especially if you have naturally skinny legs, it takes a lot of hard work, and years of plyometrics. I have no doubts his legs are getting stronger but it will take time to notice a physical difference.

          See here for example:
“I had a very big upper body before,” Khan explains, “What we did is take that muscle from my upper body and balanced it out a little bit. Now you can see I’m a little leaner up top. The shoulders are not carrying too much muscle. And, you know, I put more muscle in my legs for the strength. I feel more balanced in the ring. And you know it’s been helping me a lot.”

There are similar quotes from Roach and from several boxing journalists who have seen him recently, if you google for them. Maybe his upper legs still need a lot more developing but they are better than they were.

Im not sure whats going on to be honest...i am a khan fan, he does have a weak chin, but as people have said maybe moving up in weight will help him although personally i just think he naturally has a weak chin and it isnt to do with being weight drained...

I think some people are being harsh on him tho, stepping up to LWW isnt going to be any easier for him, especially if hes going for a title shot....since when does someone stepping up in weight go for the best of the new weight? He will have to take it step by step, hes still learning and is still young....

As people have said why was it a good match up for ortiz...yet its an easy match up for khan?

It aint khans fault who he fights..it comes down to frank warren...and as uve seen im sure he is willing to take on most fighters...he took on prescott knowing he had a high KO percentage after previously been Knockedown by average fighters....I do think he needed a few more fights before a title shot tho...

It`s funny to see how people say that Kotelnik will get murdered by Khan There was even a ukrainian guy on this thread, who told Kotelnik might be stopped... I think that the majority judges on Kotelnik only after looking up his record on boxrec...

If somebody bothered himself with watching one of Kotelnik fights, he would see that he has GREAT defence and very accurate counter-punching...

But i wouldn`t (if i had something ) beat on Kotelnik... He might , and i`m pretty sure he will, outpunch Khan, but he won`t get the decision anywhere outside Germany... Nobody needs a very skilled ukrainian with weak punching power except ukrainians ... and germans...

Frank Warren & Amir Khan obviously new that they were angling for a fight with Kotelnik. What better way to make sure they get the fight by saying “he’s the worst champion around”. That was a sure fire way to rile the champion up so he accepts the fight, so I wouldn’t read too much into it.

In my opinion Kotelnik isn’t that good anyway, Khans got this one in the bag weather you like him or not.

I'm not convinced by Khan yet, too much hype and I haven't seen anything special. Fights like a very fast amateur but did improve greatly in the Barrera fight under Roach. Even that Barrer fight wasn't the best cause the circumstances, it was the step in the right direction. Guess I'll wait and see in his upcomming fights.
