seriously buddy, who has ortiz beaten that he should be called the best???

I will agree that ortiz has the potential to become one of the best, but as is, I cannot say that he is among the best right now, nor will defeating him catapult anyone to becomes one of the best at this moment in time.

Well it could be because it's going to be his only bout at LWW ??

      I don't see why not.

That holds no grounds in the pros considering they are older, more experienced, grown and matured more, no headgear, smaller gloves, more rounds, different rules.

Not to mention two things have really been established in the pros. Khan has a bad chin, and Ortiz has good power. Those two things don't play a big factor in the ams with larger gloves and headgear.

        Ortiz knocks Khan out.
have you ever seen ortiz take a shot yet??? i have once!! and guess what..HE WENT DOWN! khans chin is the same as it was then in the ameteurs which is when criag watson put him down..ortiz couldnt and his legs buckled when he was hit by khan and he went over which is kinda bad as hes wearing a headguard do you not think? not saying ortiz is not good as he is but i wouldnt decide on his being a superstar just yet as he hasnt fought anyone decent as of yet and iv only seen him take a proper shot once and he was lying on the floor after it!you can say you think ortiz would win but its not a guarantee as it could totally be the other way around and seeing as they have met before that previous result doesnt sound like it would be such an easy night for ortiz like you are making out. being ko'd holds alot of psycological edge over somone which actually gives khan an edge i think but it would be a good fight and i see it happening as i reckon khan would be WELL up for it seeing as hes already beaten him quite badly if you know what i mean..

I know what you're saying but I really don;t think that's why he's moved up. he's never struggled to make the weight, nor has he complained about being able to make the weight. he is a big guy, I agree, but he was happy to fight at LW when he was fighting blow up fighters such as Gomez and MAB. my point is, it just seems daft that post MAB fight to now I don;t recall him looking at moving to LWW, so why now?? I know he's mentioned fighting Hatton ( LOL) but that's all I've ever heard. I honestly think that his chances of getting a world title are probably easier at 140 than 135. he has so many option of people to box and my honest opinion is he's avoiding them. If he wins and fights Campbell, Bradley, ****ter or any of them at 140lb then fair play to the lad, but I don;t see it.

maybe so. but i think he'l stay at LWW, the opposition is too dangerous at LW. i

f he beats kotelnik, he'l take an easy first defence and then fight salita. tho if he has a tougher mandatory, then he may give up the title and move down.

tho i think the long term strategy is to get a wbo belt and give this one up at some point.

fans moan about fighters ducking other fighters all the time, amir khan has managed to duck a whole division, he beats no one at lightweight who holds a good world title, the top guys such as cotto, pbf etc have all moved away from light welter, so the division isnt what it was a few years back, a win for khan could set the stage for a farewell fight for hatton after the pacman fight

its actually pretty much GUARANTEED hel be fighting big names now as number 1:

sky wont televise his fight as ppv unless it is a big attraction etc so he has to get a named fighter

                  and 2:

hel have to defend his mandatories on that world belt if he wins which means no matter how hard he tries he will be forced to fight big names or be shamed, khan is a bit of a nutter and i truly believe would fight anyone at any weight lol..its only ever been his promoter who stopped him but even warren cant do **** once he wins this belt as he will really have to fight the big boys!

140 is incredible right now Hatton, Pacquiao, Holt, Bradley, Torres, Kotelnik, Hopkins, Ortiz, Malignaggi, Witter, Urango, Campbell, Peterson and Bailey (the guy that scored that awaesome 1-2 KO on FNF). Marquez may move up to try to get a fight with Pacquiao and Hatton will want to fight Marquez if he wins.

WOW!!! Do u guys not see what is happening here??? This is another chicken shiet boxing political maneuvering by the Best Cherry Picker in the business frank warren. He was ready & willing to let amir khan face valero for a 135 title this year, but when he saw valero was no joke, he goes up in weight & finds the weakest title holder in kotelnik for khan to try & win the title the cheap & classless way.

So khan spends his entire career @ 135 & never fights a single credible threatening opponent. Yet 135 is loaded w/ tons of talent & washed up superstar names. So he goes up in weight which he has never fought at & gets a title shot??? Where is the justice & integrity in this sport???

Team khan is making it very hard for die hard honest fans to root for amir khan.

                      NO SHAME IN THEIR GAME......
