Kotelnik is a big puss - he turned down the Ortiz fight about a month ago. I guess either Richard Schaeffer was bull****ting or Kohl just lied to him. I knew the Ortiz fight wasn't happening, I'm surprised Kotelnik took the Khan fight. He turned down Salita twice, then Ortiz - now he'll fight Khan?! Maybe he saw that video on YouTube where Khan called him the worst - that would get me motivated . . .

it was because hes to big.. i hear he walks around at 160lbs before a fight and kills himself to get to 135lbs..he a natural light welter who squuezes in to lightweight to carry lots of power but brings a bad chin in instead.. i reckon his chin is going to be alot better at light welter.

Great move for Khan. It might be just the move he needs to spark his career. I even see Khan moving up to welterweight eventually.

            on another subject...

if you were kotelnik who would you rather fight, a chinny lightweight for fame and money or a seemingly monstrous ortiz for semi-fame and less money?

            the answer is obvious.
If Kotelnik wanted to be the best he'd be fighting Ortiz, plain and simple. Ortiz doesn't have as much name recognition as Khan, but he'd definitely gain a lot more respect for beating Ortiz... I mean, I think Vic would annihilate him, but still, Kotelnik lost a lot of respect from me.

i doubt he will ever fight a Bradley, Torres, Campbell, Witter etc., so what's the point

they're just setting up a massive cash-in with Hatton retiring on a Khan fight

                and your point is?

That holds no grounds in the pros considering they are older, more experienced, grown and matured more, no headgear, smaller gloves, more rounds, different rules.

Not to mention two things have really been established in the pros. Khan has a bad chin, and Ortiz has good power. Those two things don't play a big factor in the ams with larger gloves and headgear.

                Ortiz knocks Khan out.

Last I read, Khan was supposed to fight Valero, but after seeing his demolition of Pitalua he ran away to another weight class. Kotelnik is probably one of the few guys in the 140 top 10 that Khan could beat. I just can't see him beating the likes of Witter, Bradley, Malignaggi, Holt, Bailey or Hatton.

i would fancy kotelnik to maybe grab a decision and maybe even stop khan, kotelnik is well schooled and throws very accurate punches.... khans speed will bother him early but i think khan fades and does not have the heart to be factor in world class boxing

and kotelnik is not the worst champion, hes a pretty solid unheralded boxer who could seriously surprise khan, he does not punch hard but he punches with respect i think he beats khan and times one shot to his chin will hurt him
