It was clear as day that Santa Cruz beat Casa that night. But if Santa Cruz got the titles, Casa would have most likely gotten a rematch and Casa would definitely win, as he was undertrained and underprepared going into the first fight.

I think Arum is just trying to pretend everyone's scared of Valero to get publicity for him. I doubt he's approached any elite lightweights and asked them if they want to fight him - if he had, and if they'd said no, he'd have made a big thing about it. It's just Arum bull****ting.

Correct, Arum will guide Valero, put him in with a few more C average fighters to gain peoples interest then finally put him in with a big name. Sucks cause I wanna see Valero get tested with

        Soto
        Guzman
        Diaz
        Casa
        J. Diaz
        Marquez
        Khan

Some bigger name then the past bums he KOed.

So? **** happens and it didn't happen. Triangle theories don't work. Besides....I'd probably pick Casamayor in a rematch against Cruz anyway. That dude was insanely rusty the first fight, but the rematch still probably would be close.

Pitalua beat Cruz in the 6th by the way.

ah, ah.....i don't think so. i'm not jumping into his bandwagon. somebody with speed and decent punch will expose valero's china chin...am pretty sure on that!

Styles make fights though. Not only Ali but also Jimmy Young exposed Foreman - but Foreman slaughtered Frazier twice. It's possible that some elite lightweights would expose Valero, but that Valero could still KO some of the top guys. And Marquez, great as he is, does take quite a lot of punches, and has slowed down, so you never know ...

Latin Fury is great exposure to the many Latin fans who will buy the card to see JCC jr. Goldenboy has the BAD cards for June and August, and showtime is a relatively small audience, so he is actually making more fans by fighting on Latin Fury and it keeps him active which is good. Latin Fury does not have a massive budget, which everyone needs to understand. That said, they can get a solid opponent cheap. Valero-Reyes would be interesting after he stopped Diaz. I'd go for Valero-Katsidis, but that would cost too much. Valero-Barrios would be great as well, id like to see them fight after the confrontation. Valero vs David Diaz would be another nice test and Diaz is promoted by Top Rank.

didn't say any and all LW's will beat valero. I'll go for speed when faced with valero. Guzman and Khan have speed but khan is very vulnerable with his own icy chin. i myt pick valero over khan on that account coz one solid valero punch can take the lights out of khan. he will not be able to duck all power punches thrown at him. Campbell is another good pick over valero....
