One of the main reasons I prefer HBO over showtime is the commentators....Show commentators suck

People never really bought into the HBO Jermaine Taylor hype.
What you are saying is true, BUT they approved the Spinks and Ouma bouts, so they are at fault as well for the boring fights........Spinks=boring, Ouma=usually exciting but more of the blame lyes with JT for not stopping him

Gamboa fights on all three networks, so I'm sure HBO will have him again. HBO has been doing a good job at only picking up what they view as good competitive fights, for the most part, and Gomboa's next fight really doesn't look like it's going to be competitive.
HBO are happy with Taylor but wouldn't approve of Froch being an opponent.

You can't be mad at Judah-Witter on paper.Remember that was the era when Judah looked unbeatable.

Overall, Floyd did HBO right. The Corrales fight. 2 Castillo fights. Blowing out Manfredy. The wars with Chavez, Augustus and N'Dou. The Gatti PPV. The Judah fight with the brawl. Corley was entertaining. The Hatton mega-event. And the biggest commercial fight in history. And the 24/7 franchise.

Yes, there were a few Bruseles gimmes thrown in there. But Floyd worked his way up from KO Nation, to B.A.D. to WCB to PPV monster shows. HBO got their money's worth.
Also Witter was a late opponent. I forget who Zabs original opponent was but he pulled out very late.

And that is whats wrong w/HBO. They approved Spinks and Ouma 4 JT, but not a current Champ? I know the story, not enough people know of him, Spinks is the son of a legend, Ouma had a very horrible childhood as a soldier etc etc, but c'mon, HBO should've stepped up to the plate......they didnt, Showtime did and we get to see a good fight, end of story

Yeah, but even after investing in Calzaghe, they (HBO) weren't able to get Joe to sell. They think Froch is Calzaghe-lite.

It's weird with Calzaghe. He is a good-looking, well-spoken white guy. At an interesting weight class. He should be able to trade on both his Welsh and Italian ancestries. He is undefeated, fast-handed and generally tries to be entertaining.

Yet, nobody wants to see the guy fight.

                  WTF.

                    I like Bernstein.
                    I hate Papa.

                    I like Lampley.
                    I hate Fran Charles.

                    I like Kellerman.
                    I hate Albert.

                    It's a mixed bag all-around.

His style is just, so different. Collazo used that same style against Berto, I just can't stand to watch it.
