That is true. Cintron did pull out of the Clottey fight. Still, Clottey should have fought someone. But he is injury prone so they didn't want to take the chance. Brittle hands.

Do you mean who was the IBF's top contender at that time? Or do you mean what other big names were there? Because the whole point is that a champion does not wait until he can get a big name. If he doesn't want to be stripped he has to fight whoever the sanctioning body's top contender is, within a reasonable timescale; and he didn't.

But worse still, Arum screwed up by not applying to the IBF for the unification to be given precedence until it was already too late.
