But my favorite Morales moment never even occured during a fight.

It was in the post fight interview after the first match with Pacquiao, when Merchant asked Erik about going southpaw in the 12th. And when Merchant asks Erik why he did it, Erik just cracked a sly smile, extended his arm, put his hand on Larry Merchant's shoulder, looked him in the eyes and said.....

You could tell just by watching that Morales was very sincere there with Merchant. As if his only concern was just making the fans happy.

Hands down, my favorite moment from "El Terrible".
You beat me to it. That was a classic when EM said that.

      there was plenty...

oh! yeah... when he & barrera were in business suits and they fought without gloves in a press conference...

and of course... the chest shot he gave zaragosa to annex the 122 championship...

I'd liked the 12th round of The Barrera-Naz fight more.

I welled up with tears after seeing that.

One fell, but I caught it before it hit the ground and put it back in.

Morales always wanted to please the boxing world. Going southpaw against Pacquiao took a lot of guts although it was a foolish move. It will always be a classic moment and that interview with Merchant where he asked "Did you like it?" showed that it was all about pleasing the fans.

Marco has had his fair share of epic moments as well. The turnbuckle in the 12th is something I'll never forget.

As long as you put it back in, it's all good.

I liked that as well when Terrible asked Merch "Did you like that". Merchant always had a lot of Time for Morales because he was such a entertaining fighter.

Fighters like Morales were good for the sport. His PPV were always money well spent.

Too many great moments to pick just one. I guess if I was forced to pick one, it would have to be earlier in his career when I saw him drop a guy and seriously hit the guy 3 or 4 times as he fell. I had never seen anything so bad ass in my entire life. I wish I could remember what fight that was. But yeah, that "Did you like that?" quote is something special. Fighters like Morales dont come around very often. He was a fighter with skill, will and pride.
