But we do want it to be acknowledged and we want the impact of that experience to be acknowledged. I have read quite a few people say things like blacks today weren't ****** and get over it. Well that is easy to say when your loved ones haven't lived that life. My grandma has lived through depression and jim crow. And her mother was a slave. Trust me, it is passed down. That pain is still felt and it's gonna take sometime for things to get to where they should be. But like the ***ish people we will never forget!

So u might get some backlash or push back when u say get over it so simply don't say it. I would trade that heritage, legacy, history of slavery for the concerned of being called black boy anyday.

Try and look it at from that point of view and maybe you can be enlightened and not feel bothered by that no more. Being called a white boy or having to deal with that history....u got it good!
I am enlightened. Whiteboy is the least of it but its still a hostile racially charged word coming from a black person.
I dont deny slavery or that there has been suffering. But I resent being blamed for it or being expected to provide some sort of reparations (socially or economically) because of the "eternal victimhood" that some people play into.
I treat everyone equally and with respect. I dont feel like I owe black people extra because they were enslaved by people I had nothing to do with.

First off yes it is offensive to be called white boy. You dont refer to someones skin, because you dont like them. Especially, if you happen to be from and ethnic minority who knows how distasteful it is. You dont have to have been a part of slavery not to dislike being attacked because of the colour of your skin. Ive never been a victim of slavery nor where my ancestors nor where you for that matter, but if someone calls me white boy i aint taking lightly at all....believe.

so if you want to get along be more senstive to others feelings and understanding.
slavery residue still exists? there is a black president, and black people get specific black scholarships just for themselves. I would know, I won one but was denied it when they found out I wasnt black, lol. too bad too, could have paid for all my college expenses...

White people were enslaved a long time ago too, who cares, get over it. if you really want to 'heal the wounds' of racism, then stop bringing it up, or else itll just keep being recycled in a neverending cycle.

So Pullcounter, are you sensitive about what happened to Slavic people in the USSR in the 20s and 30s? Ever read about the Bolshevik purges? Black people in the US were not going through anything like that at the time, you had it better than we did.

I see a lot of double standards. My ancestors never owned black ******, in fact we were ****** ourselves to the Bolsheviks, so why am I supposed to feel guilty about US slavery?

you don't have to feel guilty, but since slavic people went through a lot of bull*****t I'd think that you'd understand and relate to the black experience of slavery, but for some dumbasss reason u fail to understand...

bull***** is bull***** where ever and who ever you are and people that are on the receiving end of bull***** should understand each other. I don't know why you can't bridge that gap.
