Could Roach turn Valero into the next Pacquiao?

No they do not, Pacman relies on multiple straight punches (he has not really had 1 punch power in quite a few weight classes also).
Valero has some speed but does not throw real straight shots and he has 1 punch power and really relies on it.
TO me they fight nothing alike, other then they are both lefties.Comment

That was my first opportunity to actually see Valero in the ring. I was impressed by his combination punching and overall speed. Manny has better speed but there is not a big difference. Valero has a good 1-2 and uses the right hook well for a southpaw. I liked how he really opened up and went for the kill when Pitula was hurt; he has a great finishing attitude. I don't see him KO'ng Marquez and he better be careful calling out the big-boys until he really gets tested. No offense to Pitula, but he was outmatched on Saturday. Are you kidding? His speed is exactly like Manny's if you saw the fight this past Saturday. That quick right he threw that dropped Pitula, I did not see at all until the replay. Even the announcers who sat ringside thought it was the left that dropped him. It was lightening quick. Even his fights in the past, now I'm not saying all of them, but I've seen afew where he's landed some bombs that you could not see coming unless you slow motion the video. His physicality is near identical to Manny.Comment

I couldnt agree more but I just have one question regarding Valero, can he hang with the big boys at 135/140? i'll wait for that answer once he's in the ring with them....They are soooo similar, it ain't even funny. At least the raw look of Valero that Manny used to have. If Roach can sharpen him out abit, he could easily work off of Valero's aggression. He's got all the tools to be similar to Manny, but needs someone to really hone them. I think with Valero's style and Roach working with a great southpaw like Manny, it could only be a good thing.Comment

I believe so. He's got too much pride to lose at this point. He's got momentum as they say and that can overcome a lot. He's finally got to fight back in the US and knows opportunities will be knocking in large $$$. He won't let this pass. He won't fight as wild against someone like Marquez. He shows great ability in sparring, now if only he can bring it out. I just think he wants to keep his KO % in tact in the ring so that's why he's so reckless.Comment
