but if he gets into a gun a blazing with ricky...trading shots...good night pac....no way he holds up against ricky's power with him being above 130...i'm confident on that statement and roach knows this as well..he says he cant have pacquiao in one area too long...but its pacquiao's instinct to brawl....he likes to do it with lighter opponents gets him in trouble in this fight i thinkComment

What I mean by "all guns blazing". it means he will not gas out, he will not stop throwing until the final bell, but it doesn't mean he play into Ricky's hands. He will stick to his gameplan, unless it's not working, then and only then you'll get what you crave for, a non-stop, give-and-take, no-holds-barred slam **** affair, which you say will play into Ricky's strong points...Comment

i used to buy into that argument that hatton has problems with speedsters, but hattons only loss was because he got beat by floyd's outstanding defense....its takes a defensive fighter to beat hatton....and pacquiao is not a defensive fighter....he is a speedster boxer type...and hatton has beaten guys like that before...malginaggi, castillo, collazo(southpaw). tackie, oliveria
LOL..................no where are these guys as fast as PAC, Hatton havent faced a fighter that resembles PAc, Pac is a different kind of animal......Comment

Roach shouldnt underestimate Hatton. How can you underestimate someone who wins all the time? His defence cant be that bad. He was the one hitting paul malignaggi for fun, exercise and a good warmup afterall.
Hatton does get hit, but usually he hits his opponents a bit more than he gets hit, and that is why he wins.
Roach should talk down hatton a bit to make Pac not be intimidated. But dont get into Pacs mind it will be easier than DLH or Diaz.Comment

i agree he will try to stick with roach's gameplan...but its not a question of if pac will get hit by a big shot but when...and pacquiao has the instinct to come forward and throw more punches...i think once hatton connects one time...roach will work the rest of the night to get him back to the gameplan...pac is a little brawler...he tryed to get marquez and almost all his opponents to trade shots with him because he had the power advatage....now above 130...they even respected david diaz not to try the trade shots attitude....oscar he didnt do it...and i'm sure he wont do it here....i just hatton connecting once and then its all out war...imo could be wrong...and i know manny is not like paulie...once paulie got hit he was never the same the rest of the fightWhat I mean by "all guns blazing". it means he will not gas out, he will not stop throwing until the final bell, but it doesn't mean he play into Ricky's hands. So, it is okay for Floyd Sr. to underestimate Pacman and not Roach and get away with it? Who's more believable? A legend on his own mind or a 3 time trainer of the year awardee? I'm not buying Roach's talk lately neither but if Floyd Sr. gets a free pass, why can't Roach?Comment

Pacquiao of late is on a 17 round tear (9 with Diaz and 8 with Oscar). He used to slug it out with guys his size (JMM, Barrera, Morales and the likes), and he doesn't care if he gets hit as long as he can dish his own licks back. It's either he knocks them out or he gets knocked out kinda attitude. As Manny moved up in weight, he found out that his opponents are more resilient to his power punches that carries heavier guns. He tried to be unpredictable by developing his non-existent right hand for his predictable offense and started using his quickness more for his defense. He found out to his delight that it was a much better proposition for him to punch and get nothing, or at least minimal in return. It was more fun, and I don't blame him...Comment
