Yes way! Oscar barely won that fight. I will give you that, he didn't rematch him nor Whitaker but he at least fought them.

I don't know if I would go that far...he beat Vargas clean, and a case could be made in the
Shane rematch as well as trinidad imo

Vargas was a shell of himself by then, roids or no roids.

Vargas was at least over 85% of what he used to be when he got to Oscar. Being on roids should raise it more. The one that got the shell was Mosley and Vargas was still good enough to beat someone like Castillejo.

One thing about those guys, not too many marquee matchups went unmade prime or close to prime

People like to rip oscar alot but the guy delivered great fights and matchups his entire career,,,

                    pernell
                    ike
                    tito
                    vargas
                    mosely twice
                    hopkins
                    floyd
                    manny

all pretty much at their peaks,,,,,

people can say he should have lost to pernell and sturm, but if you want to take those wins away, then add on the tito win and the mosely rematch win.....

All in all, oscar fought a helluva schedule, and i havent even mentioned, ruales, gatti, mayorga, genero, chavez twice, leija, molina, paez,

The ike-oscar fight was super close as oscar faded from rounds 6-11 but pulled out a huge 12th round,,,,,

Whether people like it or not,, oscar fought everyone, never dodged big event type fights, and always took the big challenges,,

floyd wont even think about going to 160 for serg or ggg,,, let alone ****ing hopkins

oscar fought 3 legit p4p #1 guys in manny, floyd, hopkins,, plus tito, pernell and shane were all p4p fighters when he fought them

I wish all fighters had the balls of oscar,,, win or lose he took the big fights

                      down the stretch
I thought quartey beat dlh and was a bit past it when he fought lopez who was a very big puncher
