Roach thinks that 140lb is Pac's highest peak weight, and I don't see why a natural 140 pounder should fight Pac at a higher weight, where Pac is almost certainly going to be less competitive.

I agree with your last sentence above, though.
Well, Floyd's fans say that he's the best boxer ever and that doesn't mean its true.
If you look at Floyd's record, (http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...0352&cat=boxer) his last fight at 140 was in June of 2005 against Arturo Gatti what makes Floyd's fans think that after 4 years fighting at 147 or higher and after 1 year of inactivity it would be easy or would PBF accept a fight at 140 especially when every body will do anything to step in the ring against him.

While you are at it please take a look at his oponents for the last 6 years and name me one them stands out as the toughest oponent available in the division at the moment they fought.

I'm only asking you to do that because you know about boxing.

Pac has a different type of frame, which seems to allow him to put on more weight without losing so much of his speed or power, relatively speaking. I think Pac's highest peak weight is probably 140lb (provided he can beat Hatton, because the DLH fight didn't really test him); whereas JMM's highest peak weight is probably 135lb.

Plus Pac has already fought once above 135lb, and is about to do so for a second time. If he beats Hatton, he'll be considered a legitimate 140 pounder. JMM has done nothing so far to be considered a legitimate contender above 135lb.
            Totally agree, great post!!!!

But even if Pac's peaks is at 140 probably, you have to admire if he's willing and decides to fight welterweights after Hatton. that's what makes Pacman so special for the sport.

Pacman at 147 looked at his peak didn't he
Almost no one thinks Pac would be favourite to beat any of the top three Welters, other than die hard Pac fans.

Some people put on weight without losing any power or speed, some don't. Some people's body type means they have to move up in weight as they get older whether they like it or not (like Guzman and Campbell), others can stay at the same weight their entire careers (like Hagler).

Hearns' peak was at Welterweight. He was competitive at higher weights because of his great skills and power, but he was not an ATG at higher weights, like he was at Welter. Duran's peak weight was Lightweight, even though he was competitive at higher weights.

I admire him for it but it worries me. I think Cotto, Mosley, Clottey or Williams would beat him up and I'd rather see him dominate at his peak weight than be beaten up by bigger men. But I agree that he's very special, and admirable.

Floyd has never fought as a true welterweight thats why 140 will not be a problem at all just that he must dry out more the day before , every WW fight he has been in he has actually fought on the night as a jnr welter , 140 and 147 is only weigh-in weight the day before , what he weighs on the night is what he is as a fighter ,, 140 weigh-in is prime for Floyd going on all the info of what he weighs before and after and the fullness of his body as he has traversed the divisions , he will be awesome and 140 with KO power that he dont have fighting the bigger guys , ask the smaller men what Floyd punches like .

To many guys on this board dont understand fight weight and weigh-in weight .

Then if he fights Pac, they should fight at Jnr Welterweight, not at catchweight or Welterweight.

Under the rules of boxing that means weighing 140lb at the weigh in.
