That I remember. I think we're referring to the two fights that didn't come off for injuries. And how, that's as much a duck as Hopkins ducking Calzaghe seven years ago. In other words...NOT.

Personally, i'd like to know where calzaghe found the time to fight Peter Manfredo but not Glen Johnson, funny how he gets injured twice in two years just as a fight with Glen Johnson comes up, but then he cant just get better and make the fight happen later on.

Agreed mate, as I said in my previous post, the guy cannot even get the basic facts right. Calzaghe and McClellan never crossed paths simply because McClellan had retired by the time Calzaghe had only 8 fights.

How about Joe gives him the fight regardless seeing as they agreed to fight and he pulled out through injury twice.

Rather see that fight than Manfredo right?

The Johnson fight would have come off IF Johnson had beaten Woods. That's why it didn't happen later on.

The Manfredo fight was a joke. On the other hand, HBO wanted it badly and I heard JC got a good payday, plus some name recognition in the US. As much as it sucks, Manfredo's name was becoming known more than the then-current champs. The UK also knew who he was due to exposure from the Contender series.

Not sure if you ever saw the Calzaghe interview with Steve Bunce where Joe said he didn't want this fight, he was bored by the thought of it and couldn't get any motivation for Manfredo? I'll try to find the video.

Johnson has been on the wrong end of some shockers, because in reality he did beat Clinton woods,the judges beat glen johnson, unofficially he beat Chad Dawson too. The guy is relentless, he would have given calzaghe real trouble imo.

I actually agree with you on this one TS, there is no doubt that Calzaghe took certain pathways or was it Warren? Even so it stinks.

Whats worse is that the 'governing bodies' allow it to happen, I mean I have heard that Sergio Mora is to get a shot at Pavlik's titles??? The script is that you have to take a one sided boxing lesson to earn a shot these days.

Agree with you. Being a fan of both these guys I would have loved to have seen them fight. If I had to pick a winner though I'd say Joe by UD in a tough fight. Joe should have given Glen a fight, regardless.

This is where it gets messy.

This is one of my major problems with calzaghe.

If you listen to what he says, you find out he makes an extraordinary amount of excuses concerning who he should and shouldnt fight. This is one of the main reason people dont like him, because he comes across as someone who is purley interested in making sure he has a '0' on his record.

He Cant fight Chad dawson, because Chad doesn't draw, but he can fight Manfredo, so is Manfredo a draw now?

He cant fight Carl Froch because there's no money in it, then apparently he was offered millions, then its he cant fight froch because he just wants a payday. Then its Carl hasnt fought anyone, but who the hell did Kessler fight....Beyer? (shot)

He cant rematch Hopkins because he doesnt do rematches, but he gave Mario Viet 2 shots.

He said he wouldnt fight roy jones because Jones is old and that fight proves nothing, next min he fights jones, then when he beats jones he says jones is legend and he has nothing more to prove.

This is part of the problem
