How could this happen?

exactly, if this was the nfl it would've been huge. look at the mlb and steroids. people were calling for bonds head even though there wasn't proof he used it. and all the racist letters he was recieving, that was rediculous.Comment

What pisses me of is that I had become a fan of Margs over time because of they way he fought.I thought his win over Cotto was sensational, but that fight has more than a question mark over it now,and it really doesnt matter if his gloves werent loaded.I just hope Cotto hasnt been affected long term by that loss, because that would be a tragedy.Comment

i agree, hopefully cotto wasn't affected long term. you brang up a very good point with this thread. boxing is nowhere near as big as the nfl and mlb so this situation went unoticed to the main stream public. and that's sad because what margarito and his team tried to do to mosley was a crime and an attempt to purposly injure another manWhat pisses me of is that I had become a fan of Margs over time because of they way he fought.I thought his win over Cotto was sensational, but that fight has more than a question mark over it now,and it really doesnt matter if his gloves werent loaded.I just hope Cotto hasnt been affected long term by that loss, because that would be a tragedy.Comment

I think the commission might be trying to avoid "another black-eye for boxing" commentsThe lab findings regarding Margaritos wraps seemed to dribble out with hardly any fanfare compared to the furore surrounding his earlier hearing.Surely the fact that it was found to be plaster should have been a massive story, every bit as big as his earlier hearing, after all, wasnt the make up of those pads and their origin the reason for all this in the first place?Comment

I agree with that. If someone did something similar in another sport ESPN would be calling it Plastergate and have entire hour long specials devoted to it. Just shows that the sport isn't mainstream. Sammy Sosa corks his bat, we hear about for two months straight. Margarito loads his gloves, and it's barely on the sports ticker. Ahh, perception and the media, one of my favorite topics.
On a side note, **** MLB. I hate that league. A bunch of stat tracking dorks.Comment

Thats the problem with having the hearing before the lab results! WTF is that all about?I agree with that. As a boxing fan, you're upset this bull**** didn't get even more attention, thus makin boxing look even worse TS? **** that ****. The people who need to take notice are the commission execs who are supposed to be keepin an eye on this ****. Surely they will be now, since anotha one of these scandals could be badly damagin to boxing. But as a fan, personally I'm sick to death of hearin about this **** every ****in day. Does the plaster revelation really make a ****in difference? We knew the second he was caught that he was doin sumthin illegal, and that's all that matters. Thankfully he was caught before the fight started and he could use it. He got caught, he got banned, he lost his cred, and his career may well be over. Why anyone would want this to get any more attention is ****** as **** imo. Especially on here, where we get 20 threads a day about it already. I must got a lower tolerance for repetitive bull**** than other cats here.

Despite me being"****** as ****" in your opinion,Maybe we agree on something and that is that boxing needs to clean its F.ucking act up.I put it to you that wanting to sweep it under the carpet or not have it mentioned in the wider public arena is another stain on boxing. What, you think the sanction from the CSAC was enough? If you want boxing to look better to the less knowledgeable wider public, who by the way actually have a say in actually allowing the sport to continue, then you ban Margarito for Life and restore some of this ailing credibilty that the sport lacks.Dont jump on me for making a thread to talk about it,jump on the CSAC,the promoters within the sport, the sanctioning bodies etc.
