Santos is a champion at 154...so yes it would mean something. Didn't Paul said he wants to dominate a division or 2?? What better way to do it than to beat its champions??
Winky's last fight was a very competitive back and forth contest vs Hopkins at 170. And he would beat every guy you named.

Apparently the plan is to try to get Mosley to fight him for the WW belt, although as you can see in my sig Mosley has other ideas. Also fighting the winner of Sergei vs Kirkland for the WBO 154 lbs. title. At this point Santos is an afterthought. Let him Santos fight another belt holder first.

Yeah, the guy is very predictable. So was Roberto Duran.
I understand what you mean, but people have over emphasized that loss: Bernard Hopkins is one of a kind, just because he can deal with a monster ****er like Pavlik with ease doesnt mean everyone can. Hell, it doesnt mean anyone else can, at least at this point.

I agree with you here. Dizzy, Santos, Martinez, Forrest etc. Winky would have beaten all of them before the layoff. If he shows up in top form, and Paul beats him, that will be quite a statement.
You have to admit, though, its not likely Winky will be in top form. 37 years old, coming off of a loss, two year layoff. The older you get, the more layoffs effect you. And Winky isnt the kind of guy who stayed in shape and kept sparring during his layoff, he was sitting on his ass eating Krispy Kremes and getting older.

I like Pavlik, do not get me wrong, but I think Wink would have all the answers for him. I am taking Pavlik over Abraham. Bob Arum is a disgrace though. Pavlik vs. Sergio Mora?? A guy who got schooled by Vernon at 154?? Are you serious?? It's pathetic.

I agree, but Wink is claiming to be in great shape and said no excuses, he will beat Paul up. So at that point, unless you are masking a severe injury, I believe there should be no asterisk on the win if Paul beats him.

It will be funny watching Mora get KTFO while taunting...and then sad when it takes them over 10 minutes to sc**** him off the canvas.

I will give Paul full credit if he beats Winky.
Like I stated before, Paul has all of the tools to be a great fighter, its a question of whether or not he puts them together. His performance against Margarito was awesome, and I got behind him. He disappointed me with his weak showing in the first Quintana fight, while he did brutally avenge that loss, its gonna take another breakthrough performance before I am fully convinced. This next fight is his opportunity to show us what he is really made out of.

I agree. I hope that the Quintana fight is the only time his greenness gets exposed, but even if he loses to Wink, he will not hit his peak or prime for 3 years or so. That is what's so scary about him. If he had an extensive amateur career he would be undefeated with all knock outs basically.
