He doesn't even often stop guys that way.

Marquez is a bigger puncher than Hatton in my opinion. The only way Hatton stops anyone is if he wears their body down well and that is certainly the only way he will stop Manny, if he does at all, which is unlikely.
i don't understand it. hatton can ko manny by wearing him down.

but people are acting like hatton will get manny with one punch or something.

marquez's punching power has definitely gone up in my estimate.

maybe jumping in weight helped? more likely as he gets older he's putting more into it since lately pacquiao and diaz has forced him to slug.

I will not consider these knockouts seriously... Pac has 1/4 of his record way back then... and too young for a pro..

Im not taking these bodyshot KO's seriously because I know he was a very skinny kid at the time.

BUT, it's funny how people are quick to accept the fact he was weight drained when he got KO'd, but then dismiss the fact that ODLH was weight drained when he lost against Pac. Hmmmm....

Yet, whenever I see anyone Pac-fan go on a rant about (just using a common example here that I see all the time) Darchinyan, they always, without fail, bring up the loss to Donaire and say that until he rematches him then none of his career means anything, even though he has moved up beaten three brilliant fighters, unified the SBW the the first time ever etc etc. I'll never understand how the logic of these guys works.

            It's funny reading it though.

Just on a side note: Lots of people seem to be saying they were both body shots. Only Singsurat's was by a body shot. Torrecampo's was a perfect shot to the chin. It wasn't about being weight drained either for those who keep bringing up that excuse. He just got KO'd. He was young and inexperienced. It doesn't matter though, because the best champions are the ones who get back up after a loss, or two bad ones in this case, and go on to great things after. They were both early in the fight, so it's not as if exhaustion would have set in due to the weight problem yet. The same thing happened against Hussein at a higher weight, but due to a dodgy ref and Hussein being a ****eful finisher he was able to get a win instead of his third KO loss.

Anyway, they should effect his standing overall as any others fighters losses do no matter where they are in his career. The fact he came back though makes it an even greater achievement in my opinion because few champions can come back from bad KO losses, or just any loss. Only the greats come back and become champs again. Nonetheless, it's not as if he didn't get KO'd because he did. Twice.
You are wrong as usual Benny

You and me; the two Benny's that try to see past the fog yet are wrong in the eyes of those that are in the center of clouds and don't wish to get out.

I think it has something to do with Sun exposure.

I may not be always right, but at least I try to walk past the fog and see the light.

            Good post Benny.

you need to watch another video of that ko.

that youtube video doesn't show the punch.
Then show me another video. I have a clear dvd copy of that fight, I slow moed it. Notice the boxing shorts of Pac being slapped upwards, and notice him holding his inner thighs when he went down. It was a low blow that grazed his chin.

Are we talking about this KO?

They do a slow motion and listen to what they say

It seems the punch clipped his chin and was driven downwards.

In the end, it is amazing Pac was KO'd twice in his career years ago and is still around and better than ever.
