I keep reading that this is good for Cotto and that Clottey is in trouble. If I remember correctly Clottey went 12 rounds with Margarita and Cotto didnt. Don't see where this news helps one fighter more than the other.

I would like a formal investigation into Margarito's previous fights especially the last 3 years or so...The Mosley fight surely cant be the first..

How can they investigate? Where would they get the evidence? The won't have kept the knuckle pads from that far back.

Attempting a serious crime is still a serious crime. To give an extreme example, you can get life for attempted murder. Attempting to cheat in a way that can cause permanent disfigurement and even death is a very serious crime. One year's suspension is nowhere near enough, IMO.

Attempting to pick up a hooker, attempting to solicit someone for murder, all criminal activity. I don't see how trying to put plaster of paris in your gloves so as to perform a grievous, unsanctioned crime is any different with regards to culpability.

I understand, but the problem is there's no evidence in this man. We can only assume and time will tell if Marg used it against Cotto either by a rematch or how Margarito comes back...

i'm a law student, so i know the presumption of innocence principle as well as you and others, BUT we're not obliged to judge him like that. we have the right to presume anything that's common sense, since we won't punish him in any legal way

the best thing for us fans to do is dismiss this clown and let mexicans watch him on local tv. no self respecting, elite boxer will give that guy a shot at a big event

Every people's have their own bad apples and good apples. This isn't a dissertation on Mexico or Mexicans at all. Just on Margarito and his trainer. Mexico still has a great boxing history, lineage and culture. Marge can't diminish that fact. He just diminished himself completely.
