    Yea, that's the thing that bothers me.

    I know Shane doesn't duck anyone, and as far as I'm concerned he's done enough to fight whoever he wants.

    But for the life of me I don't understand why he would say that.

      I'm well aware of that - my point is that's a contradiction in terms unless you think Williams isn't anyone.

        So he doesn't want to fight either Berto or Williams, then who else is there to fight to keep busy will others are occupied with fights of their own?

            Money? I think Shane's looking for that top dollar fight. He knows he's getting old. Its retirement funds now!

              [QUOTE=Dave Rado;4971950]

              The WBO belt is the least respected of all the alphabet belts and their rankings are a joke - hence Jennings was Cotto's mandatory and WBO's no. 1 contender at a time when he was only rated #50 by boxrec. Williams wants to fight for the lineal title and he wants to fight top Welterweights, not bums who the WBO calls mandatories; and he should be respected for that.QUOTE]

              Corrrect me if im wrong but wasnt Cotto/Jennings for a vacant title?

                Mosley has earned the right to fight who he wants. I might catch some heat for saying so, but the guy has paid his dues. Real talk.

                  Pretty sure he already mopped the floor with Collazo.

                      My point was that the WBO rated Jenning, a journeyman who was only ranked #50 by boxrec at the time, as their top contender - so he would have been Williams' mandatory if Williams had hung on to the belt; and Verno Phillips and especially Winky Wright are several leagues above Jennings. Someone in this thread thinks he'd be more credible if he fought bums like Jennings than if he fights a future Hall of Famer like Winky, and a solid highly rated fighter like Phillips, and I was responding to that.
