He has to if he wants to fight valero because valero has outgrown the division that's why he vacated his belt at that division.

This is a good fight for Valero. It's about time he fight better opposition. He should take care of the Pitalua business first.

A lot of folks don't know that there are 2 sides of Valero; ONE, an Edwin Valero who boxes brilliantly and mixes his offense well while putting up a decent defense, and TWO, a wild swinging, undisciplined Valero. The first usually shows up in sparring, ask Erik Morales, Urbano Antillon and Randy Suico (youtube). He's very controlled in sparring, planning his attacks very well, and moves very well too. The 2nd version is what you usually see in his actual fights, wild, always looking for those hay makers like he's got a hot date waiting. Blame it on his Japanese manager/promoter, who's putting up some serious $$$$ for him to grab if he knocks his opponent out, especially when he was on his 1st round KO streak.

I still favor Soto to take this, but just barely, but I wouldn't be surprised if Valero changed his ways and fight the way he spars and manage to win against a technically sound boxer like Soto...
