I wouldn't rate Arreola over Haye. Both haven't beat any Top-10 quality contenders. I thiink Hay would win against all except probably Vitali Klitschko and Samuel Peter, (maybe if he boxed with Peter). And Arreola just sucks. Period.

Maskaev should be lower. Other than that it's pretty good.

damn, what a sorry ass list!! I mean you're on point, but it's just a reminder how crappy the division is. Only a couple of those guys are worth watching and a few with any talent. Oh well...

I agree with that, Gomez has the skill to beat the other fighters, he could probably beat Haye if he doesn't get clocked by the Englishman. and I think we all saw last Saturday that Gomez has both a good chin and heart.

In Europe there's at least 20 up-and-coming heavyweights that are fit and capable. There are so few good heavyweights in the US it's pathetic, but some of these Europeans are actually very good:

                Fury age 20
                Wawrzyk age 21
                Dimitrenko
                Kretschmann
                Boytsov
                Pala
                Platov
                Koeber
                Pianeta
                Ustinov (strong as the Klitschkos)

I doubt if we'll see an another American heavyweight champion until after 2020.

I really hope these guys can fill the void of talent. I don't care about where a fighter comes from like some other guys on this site (my favorite fighters are from all over the map) as long as they are talented/exciting.

And you're probably right about another American heavyweight champ - sadly most all the athletic big boys growing up go into other sports, mainly basketball and football, so the talent pool is very shallow which is why so many american heavyweights we see today are so pathetic. I could only imagine how great some of these middle linebackers in the NFL or centers/power forwards in the NBA could have been if they chose boxing instead.

My own rankings, I did not include Maskaev and Haye:

                    1. Wladimir
                    2. Vitali
                    3. Povetkin
                    4. Chagaev
                    5. Dimitrenko
                    6. JC Gomez
                    7. Arreola
                    8. Chambers
                    9. Peter
                    10.Valuev

I cannot put Haye in the top 10 because he's never beaten a top 15 heavyweight, just one fringe contender. Gomez losing to Vitali shouldn't cause him to drop out, after all he fought better than Peter.
