Some people might call me crazy but how about Don King for Cotto???
At this moment Don King doesn't have a superstar caliber type of boxer like Cotto and he will become his brightest star. Kind of what Trinidad had with Don. Cotto wil have that powerful company trying to please him on anything and he can probably go as partner on his matches. Don has done that before with Puerto Rican promoters.
It is true that Don has had his problems with boxers and it is a RISK but Trinidad Team managed to have a very successful career with Don.
I guess Papa Trinidad and his laywer crossed all the tee's while signing contracts and the mananged to control the decisions. If Cotto could do that with his father, hell he can even hire Trinidad's lawyers, it could probably work out.Comment

the minute arum backed marcheato i knew this was coming. i think its a good move if hes looking towards a fight with floy'd since we all know floyd will never deal with arum. arum doesnt deserve miguel in his stable anymore plus cotto doesnt need to promote himself,he just hires a president like schaefer for golden boy promotions.only difference is cotto runs **** now.plus arum isnt needed anymore,since cotto is already known world wide.people know what kind of action fight ur gonna get with cotto so theres not much to really promote when u already know ur getting ur money's worth. read my lips:cotto promoting himself means cotto vs. mayweather after floyd's tune-up fight. u heard me; mayweathers not gonna take a risky first comeback fight. then hell try for manny or miguel next.Comment

I Knew i would draw this type of reaction Mellow and it's understandable, but think about it for a second, and especially because of wht you say that Don King is closed to death , at least in the boxing business, and I agree with you.
Because of that I beleive Don will be willing to do anything to get a fighter like Cotto on his team. I already here him again like with TiTo Trinidad "VIVA PORTO RICO" (Puerto Rico).
Any way it is a risk at this point for any fighter to sign with Don, but you never know. if there's a slick guy in boxing, even though his promoting days are almost over, it is Don King.Comment

Good For Cotto!!!
He should promote himself under his promotional company Miguel Cotto Promotions. What a way to promote your own business, ah. And the good thing is that the $$$ stays in the family, no snake "promoter" to dry you up and take advantage of a boxers career. Cotto's promotional company can get a big bust if he becomes the face of his own company inside and outside the ring and now it seems to be a good time to do so since his still on top of his career. Good for Cotto!!! Do not sign with any other company but with Miguel Cotto Promotions. Answer this question yourself, Will you hire a boxer like Miguel Cotto to your own company? yes or no.Comment
