When the body gains then looses, then gains and looses weight it can cause problems. Keeping your body fit even during off seasons and in between fights helps your endurance and stamina. Your body doesnt have to readjust, thats why athletes stay in shape even during off season and between practice. Well see come fight night.
Hatton's the lightest he's been for years this far from a fight.

hatton and ugly old floyd combine will not deter pac from wrestling that minimal ibo belt. true, hatton was unbeaten at 140 lbs, that was before. he has not yet tested the fists of the p4p king. of course, hatton gets annoyed by amir's joining the pacman camp.

hatton will put the blame on his weight after getting ko'ed by pac. pacman will demolish him worst than delahoya. those who have seen pacman's shadow fight will not think twice what will happen to hatton on may 2.

He's correct about the stylistic differences. Where was all this criticism before the Barrera fight though? He said he was "sitting on the fence" for that one *ugh*

Oh Ok, I just heard he was coming down from 160 at this point and some interviews ive seen still show Hatton with some extra size on him and im not talking muscle.

Where did he contradict himself? I'm looking but can't see it.

When you got beat in one round by an unknown slugger who doesn't appear to have much skill outside that, you need to show humility until you've achieved what you said you would - i.e you beat the best in your division. Ricky Hatton as of now would KO Amir faster than Breidis Prescott.

Yes, but he's often started training camp nearer 170, and he's never had any trouble making the weight.

Edit - he's already down to 154lb now - see here.

Khan said that more than a year ago, just before he fought St Clair, and long before the Prescott fight; and he was talking about the long term, not the short term.

The boxingscene article gives a very false impression by quoting Hatton selectively. The full interview is here. Some bits that are missing from the boxingscene version:
"Asked if he was upset with Khan, Hatton said: "On the contrary, I'm very proud of Amir for his last performance, against Marco Antonio Barrera."

Hatton added: "Amir Khan is a close friend. And it will remain that way. I don't blame Amir for training and sparring with Manny because it is a good thing for him."

With those bits left in you get a completely different impression, don't you! I'm not impressed by boxingscene's coverage of this at all.
