Mayweather should not fight Marquez, He gets no credit for beating Marquez because Marquez is way too small.

And by the way Marquez is not a "tune up" for anybody.

Mayweather should forget the tuneup and look for big fights against Pacquiao, Mosley, Cotto, etc.

PBF fight a tune -up with JMM/NATE at 140-142
        PBF fights Pac/hatton winner
Cotto-Mosley fight it off for the chance to fight PBF.

After he beats the winner of Mosley/Cotto, he should take more time off, and pull a Leonard and fight the MW champ as his farewell fight.

Floyd's next fight is going to be a tune up..

and the point of a tune up is not to be in a tough fight...
the point is to tune up your skills and get a easy win because your next fight is going to be for real. A tune up is basically Paid for public sparring session/

People Saying Mayweather needs to fight berto as a tune up is a joke.
People Saying Mayweather needs to fight JMM as a tune up is a joke.

Those fights are not tune ups period.

A tune up is Margarito vs. Golden Johnson
A tune up is Cotto vs. Jennings
A tune up is Cotto vs. Gomez
A tune up De la hoya vs. Forbes
A tune up is Pavlik v. Serigo Mora

A tune up is not Fighting the #2 P4P fighter in the sport.
A tune up is not fighting The WBC Welterweight Champion of the world.

I swear you guys standards for Mayweather is crazy....

His tune up should be anybody who resembles his next opponent. period.
If he is fighting a southpaw next his tune up should be a southpaw.
If he is fighting a Orthodox fighter next then his tune up should be a Orthodox fighter.

For example if Mayweather plans on Fighting Pacquaio in November or December... His Tune should not be JMM because Pacquaio and JMM are 2 completely different fighters.. a perfect tune up for pacquaio would be a fighter like Yodsanan who is Asain southpaw just like Pacquaio.

A tune up in boxing is the same thing as a scrimmage in football..but the only different is in the tune up we keep score.

Style wise, JMM is a tune up. I know he is 2nd on the P4P list and a great fighter but that is an easy fight for Floyd.

Dude JMM is not a tune up for nobody. Floyd is a small welterweight and a natural Junior welterweight.

If you really think Juan Manuel Marquez is a just a sparring partner and a tune up for Floyd then you must believe with out a doubt Floyd is the greatest fighter of this era just like I do, but Only I show more respect to JMM.

JMM is probably the 2nd smartest fighter in boxing behind Hopkins Until floyd returns..then he will be 3rd. But to sugest he is a tune for floyd because he isnt big enough compared to Welterweights like some people suggest is foolish.

JMM vs. Floyd is a PPV fight and should be viewed as such.

The only person who should be considered greater then JMM from 147 on down is Mosely, and Pacquaio. Period!!

Cotto is not a complete fight like JMM and he is not half as smart.
Hatton is not a complete fight like JMM and he is not half as smart
Clottey is not a complete fight like JMM and he is not half as smart
Campbell is not a complete fight like JMM and he is not half as smart

Please show JMM some respect and stop calling him a tune up.
because if he is a tune up so is cotto, berto, etc, except mosely imo

because skills pays the bills in boxing.
AND jmm SKILLS is why he is p4p#2 in boxing

First, fight jmm on july 11.. A win would put him back in the top 3 p4p. This is a brilliant warm up fight.

Then, take the fight with the winner of pac/hatton. This would prove p4p supremacy.

Finally, and most importantly, floyd must prove that he is the best ww.... he can do this if The winner of Cotto-Clottey fights shane mosley, and floyd beats the winner of that fight.

If floyd were to do this, i dont think you could argue his position in the top 20 atg.
Sounds like a brilliant plan to me, and I would say he would be top 20, no doubt.
