I based a Vitali win on Gomez's weight and fightin' shape because Gomez is by far the better BOXER of the 2 and he will be by far the most skilled fighter Vitali has seen since Lennox Lewis.......the fact he's a southpaw doesn't seem good for Vitali either.......I see Gomez is in shape so I believe he'll beat Vitali.......for those of you who've never seen Gomez in action needs to check him out.......the guy has NEVER lost when focused!
I got late money on Gomez........20k anybody?

Gomez used to fight at cruiserweight when the limit was 190 lbs. He is not a big heavyweight by any means.

Both look to be in good shape, I hope it'll be a good fight.

From what you've seen, do you think he'll be able to force him backwards or out-muscle him? That would surely be the key to him sneaking a win, if he manages to get the champ on his back foot and make him straighten his back out whilst doing so - thus leaving his head wide open to a shot from below. Wlad tends to do the same when he's forced backwards, too (although clearly he's more vulnerable to any shots which land).

I keep forgetting that. Was he a good cruiser in his day?

              Gomez fans,

Is Gomez worth placing a cheeky tenner on to win?

Real money? Why not. He seems pretty unintimidated which is a good sign.

Edit: I'm not a Gomez fan BTW. But Vitali is one of my fav fighters.

I've always thought Vitali could be outboxed.

Herbie Hide did it comprehensively for a single round (lol!) until Vitali knocked him out with the wind from a straight right hand.

I'm going to go for it. Ten pounds ain't so much. And you can never write of an outstanding Cuban, much less if he is a former undisputed world champion albeit at Cruiser and for an extra bonus he's a southpaw.
