He doesn't look like Peter at all, that's rubbish. Peter was much more bulky. Peter is only around 6'1 and weighed over 20lbs more than Gomez. You're probably only seeing what you want to see.

Incidently, the more Gomez gets rough now will just get him hurt more in the ring. It's going to be a brutalization now. That little push sealed his fate.

Man, why's everyone ragging on me today?

I said he looked like Peter just from a spectator's point of view, not to bash the guy. I've only Googled pics of him a couple of times and that's how I remembered him in terms of appearance. Fleeting observation. Obviously I'm wrong, judging from the weigh-in and what you've described, but hey - this is the net after all.

And besides, I'm looking forward to this and don't mind either man winning (people seem to think I have an agenda, which I don't). I'm really glad both guys are in such good shape, hence the makings of a decent fight. First HW title contest of the year!

He must be a bit lighter than the offical weight then.

Lol, yeah. I wonder how vitali reponds. It's a long time since anybody has tried to needle him.

I am really looking forward to this fight. I'm picking Klitschko, but Gomez may surprise some of us. Good fight!

Ok, fair enough. I thought you might have been one of those posters who likes to piss all over threads.

The Klitschko nuthuggers do a pretty good job of that themselves. :wanker:

I find it far more interesting to look at a fight from an objective POV rather than spouting off inane ****. As far as I see it, this could still go either way since Gomez is a better fighter than Peter (I believe it now), but Vitali is the champ after all. He took the belt back from Peter as if he were nothing but a fat baby, but I don't see anyone doing it to him as easily.

... Though I'm always open to a good shock! (i.e. Margarito and Juan Diaz)

Good luck with that. I wholly expect you to come on here and say something along the lines of "Gomez was lazy" after Vitali KTFO Gomez tomorrow.

That, I won't mind either. A KO is always a KO in the end, so if the VitMan is standing over Gomez's lifeless body as the retaining champ it's no sweat off my back (and probably not his, either). That way others like Arreola, Haye, Valuev/Chagaev, Dimitrenko, etc. can have a shot at him, or vice versa.

I'm not one of these doom-and-gloomers who endlessly go around saying "Ohh, the HW division sucks so badly right now" and whatnot. There are a good few fighters that I like a lot and look forward to seeing flourish in the ring skills- and achievements-wise, so I still have plenty of faith in the division yet. Besides, Vitali's a good ambassador for the sport.

Others should try being more positive about the sport they love, but they're either Klitschko haters or Klitschko nuthuggers who hate everyone besides their favourite brothers. Both are equally useless.
