Had calzaghe decided to fight pavlik instead of hopkins

He would have beaten Pavlik easily. He should have taken the fight. It would have been a better ending than going for Jones.

yeah it would have been a much better ending than jones, and woud have been an easy win, you only have to watch pavlick vs Hopkins to know this, i think when pavlick steps up in weight that power is nulified, its effective at middle weight but when ya fighting a strong guy with a good chin and speed its not gona land flush enough to get the KO, id like to have seen calzaghe finish off with Dawson and pavlick, but no doubt some one eslse would emerge who ppl insist he should fight

People claiming Calzaghe would get proper credit if he fought and beat Pavlik are full of it. That's what was said before he fought Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins, and Joe never got any more respect on the message boards, haters don't respect ANY boxer besides the one's who's nuts they're swinging from...The boxing experts and fellow fighters gave Joe the credit he deserves which is more important than the BS posted on MB's, IMHO.

Kessler is a bigger, better version of Pavlik and if they were to ever fight at SMW, Kessler would beat Pavlik.

Fact is, Calzaghe doesnt fight like Glen Johnson and Dawson has the style to give calzaghe problems, he's quick, good going backwards, great combination thrower, doesnt seem to have stamina issues.

Look at the guy who is a cruiserweight champ now, Adamek, Dawson schooled him in his own backyard.

If he's so over hyped and an easy challenge for calzaghe, Joe can fight him, beat him easily and become the King at two weight divisions right? Instead of pretending there are no fights out there for him.

He should just admit he doesnt want to risk his unbeaten record and stop pretending there aren't anymore fights, he's got a rematch with Hopkins and or Chad Dawson who both say they wanna fight him.

he would of won very convincingly and there would probably be a bit more respect for him from some people,pavlik was crazy over rated and being the first to beat him has gotten b-hop a tremendous amount of praise, so 1 can assume calzaghe would be getting it now

Simply better.

Pavlik urn reconition for beating twice the guy who beat Hopkins twice.
We can say Kelly is one dimensional or a B class fighter, the fact remain that he made something great by beating Taylor.

Personaly, I consider Kessler better then Pavlik and I would bet money that even Andrade would beat Kelly at SMW, but the fact remain, Kelly own a big boom on is resume.

It was a easy fight for Calzaghe to take on and win and lot to gain for is own name.
