Probably better since I think Calzaghe would've won and would have been better for his career. His win over Hopkins was good, But not that good cause it was a horrible fight, plus Pavlik was undefeated, And the public was demanding for the fight to happen. Damn Bernard!!!!!!

I honestly think he would have won a UD. If he didn't get caught. Saying that beating Bernard is more of a feat than Pavlikl in my opinion!

wouldnt change a thing. Those that dislike Joe will always hate him. Nothing can/would/will change that. You only need to spend 5 mins on this forum to see how much a lot of people loath him.

Shame really. His record is outstanding, and all boxers, say Hopkins aside, would agree with that. You only need look at some of the statements from fella boxers after he retired.

Unfortunately many people wont loko at that, Cal slappy etc is the best they come up with. Yawn.

Pavlik is a B class fighter. Calzaghe is/was an elite fighter. Calzaghe would of won UD.

I was actually thinking about this the other day if Calzaghe had met Pavlik instead of Jones Jr and defeatd him he would probably be held in higher regard particularly in the States! It would have also set up a Jones Jr bout for his final fight and nobody would have then questioned how good he was!

Story of his life though. Never took a risk when it counted.

Never gone Prime v Prime against a Elite fighter.

He should have made the move to the US and faced a prime Hopkins or RJJ etc, Dam, he pulled out of Johnson twice!! Instead he was 'conveniently' adamant on fighting on wales, in the worst boxing weight class, with the worst belt.

Can you imagine Balzay saying to these guys to face him in his home country, for his belt in the SMW division? No.
Are they ducking him? No, He is simply not worth it.
