what makes you think he can? the dlh fight? that was a one time deal. everytime people ask roach about fighting WWs, all roach ever says is "catchweight".

    pac can't *** w/ mosley at 147.

Also i wouldnt go as far as calling mosley the king of 147 to be the king u gotta beat the top guys not lose to one and beat the guy that beat the other that dont make u the king.He should try to unify with Berto and cotto unifies with clottey and then make a winner vs winner and who ever wins at the end fights mayweather
there's nothing i want more than a unification. talk 2 your boy cotto and make it happen in vegas.

Then when asked who he wanted to fight in june after the fight he said ill fight clottey(who no one wants to fight) or mosley or pac/hatton winner. Never once did he mention cintron. He said hell fight clottey and thats whats happening.
im saying he tried to fight Cintron june 13th. hes a cupcake. that would've been his last 4 fights Gomez,Margarito,Jennings,Cintron. hes not a top 10 WW, hes of the damn list, cintron sucks the fat one. im happy hes fighting Clottey though, and I hope he gets by him because if he doesnt its gonna be hard to come back from that. Mosley will fight Clottey for undispted WW champ, and Cotto would have to fight Berto to get back in the mix.

Please, Cotto will have his hands full with Clottey- Clottey by close decision by the way

And Hatton will probably lose to Pacquiao because his face will be beaten so badly and cut that the refs will stop it in the mid-late rds (7-9)

So this leaves JMM, Pacquiao, and Mosley. Mayweather wants nothing to do with Cotto anyways because he knows he would get hurt as Cotto hits way too hard for his taste. Mosley is too much of a legit threat so he will undoubtedly attempt to pick on one of the little guys.

Of the two left, he will go for JMM after JMM fights another opponent. Pacquiao is too much of a threat as well and although that would be a mega fight, Mayweather wants the easy road.

You're right, but ... if Floyd wants to be ranked more highly in the all time P4P lists (currently he's ranked #48 by ESPN, but he thinks he should be near the top), then beating Williams at 147 would do that for him much more than any other possible fight. I'm not sure he'd even be the betting favourite in that fight, whereas he would against any of the others that have been mentioned.

this fight only make this kind of $en$e.. it wouldnt be comptetitive at all.. just like the first one.
If Hatton beats Pac, it would be because of the improvements he's made under Mayweather Snr. The version of Hatton who lost to Floyd Jnr would lose to Pacquiao as well. Based on that improvement, and a better referee, a rematch would be likely to be much more competitive that the first fight, especially if it were at 140.

As long as he fought a top Welter after that, I don't think it would be a problem.

So we basically we at square one...no matter who he fights, he wil have an advantage so why not fight the best fighters regardless of size!
The argument that he's not a natural Welter would be far more valid if he didn't fight at Welter. He fought Hatton at 147, not 140. Will he fight Pac or Marquez at 140? We'll see. But if not, then your argument doesn't work.

Plus he wants to be thought of as a great Welter, that's why he won the lineal crown; and to be thought of as a great Welter, he needs to beat a top Welter convincingly. Cotto, Mosley and Williams are all better than any of the Welters he has beaten.

This is Shaefer talking, not Mayweather - GBP have no stake in Cotto.
