Marvin Hagler vs Ray Leonard

Credit to Leonard.

He must of schemed that game plan for years.

He know exactly how to fight Hagler.

Although, Leonard didn't throw the hardest punches in the world, Hagler was often too slow and too hesistant to get his own punches off, to respond to Leonard's flurries.

Brilliant fight for Leonard. He set those conditions because he's not delusional, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. Hagler has no one to blame but himself.

I agree that Leonard picked his moment to fight Hagler. But Marvin didn't fight often enough for me.

Mayweather and Leonard don't fight much alike.

Leonard was mostly a flat-footed guy who circled the ring, opening up with deadly combos. The exceptions were the Duran rematch and Hagler, which he spent much more time on his toes and dancing.

Mayweather mixes it up in terms of being on his toes and on the backfoot, or circling and staying in the pocket, but he's more careful about what he throws than Leonard. He doesn't throw the combos nearly as often as Leonard did, and lacked the one-punch power of Leonard's left hook. Mayweather also spends more time fighting on the inside, or on the ropes, than Leonard did, with the exception of the Duran first fight.
