The worst title defences youve ever seen?

In terms of a champion against a challenger, when the challenger is one of the most undeserving youve ever seen.

my vote is going to go for Samuel Serrano's defence against Mario Martinez, who was 0-4 going into the fight and never won a fight in his career.

this was not the good Mario Martinez, who could have easily won a title if he was more lucky with opponents.

a close 2nd is all of Joe Calzaghe's WBO title defences.

Torres vs Arturo Morua (24-8) who was coming of a KO loss to Witter having not won a round.

    1. How do you get a title shot coming of a Ko loss?
    2. How do you get a title shot with a 24-8 record?
    3. My gran could take a round of Witter.

It could be that Martinez had many more fights which are not recorded on boxrec.com.

For example Alvaro Rojas who fought Duran and Kobayashi for the LW title is said to have won only 3 fights in his career but one of those wins includes former FW champion Clemente Sanchez. It's hard to believe a complete novice could beat a former champion.

Pete Rademacher vs Patterson is among the worst. He had no pro fights although he did win the Olympic gold medal.

Valuev against everyone but Holyfield in particular. Valuev basically tried to lose the fight but the corruption was too much to handle, and he still won.

Enzo Maccarinelli vs. Bobby Gunn, and Chad Dawson vs. Jesus Ruiz were two bad ones that come to mind.

Dawson vs. Ruiz??? Dawson was the champion correct? I was at that fight so I don't know what you're talking about.

were Bika, Sheika, Brewer, Reid, Lacy, Kessler, and Mitchell really that bad?

              I don't think so.

Jesus Ruiz had lost five of his previous nine fights. Dawson avoided his mandatory Diaconu and took a voluntary in June 2007.

man i can think of 30 of the top of my head ill name one per division
strawweight: donnie nietes vs eddy castro that castro guy was ranked like 50 in the strawweights
raul garcia vs jose varela 2: varela is a 16-5 guy and he lost to garcia in a one sided beating, then they rematched again and for the ibf title again
flyweights sosa vs jaro narvaez vs hernandez
superflyweights mijares vs gorjux the wbc had to include gorjux in their list for this fight to be contested, gorjux was a 5 foot 13-3 french guy who got knocked out by a jab in one round
118 pounds: anselmo moreno vs cecilio santos: santos had never fought much at that weight and was coming of losses and a draw, the most incredible thing is this was just a month after moreno won the title, can u defend ur title a month after u win it?
122 juanma vs figueroa figueroa was ranked 40 of his division enough said
126 linares vs aguilar this abomination of a contest was luckily aborted because linares got injured
