Why I hate Ricky Hatton.

I find ricky a nice guy in interviews, ted and sam may have reasons to hate ricky but I don't. I appreciate it that you guys justify your hate by stating the reasons. The same can't be said of other fans who hates a fighter because he is fighting his favorite fighter.

Kadyo, as I said, I don't hate him (or any boxer), he just irritates me sometimes. I'd like to make that clear.

"Hate" is a nasty word.

In some ways I like and respect him. I just wish he wasn't so obsessed with trying to become P4P #1. It's great to have dreams, but he should keep them to himself a little more. Just my opinion.

Seriously I despise Ricky Hatton. I can't wait till Manny Pacquiao just busts him up and stops him round 6-7. Then there was his total betrayal of MAB. After being asked who he's rooting for in the MAB Vs Khan fight he says "I'm sitting on the fence with this one" ARE YOU SERIOUS? MAB came into the ring with Hatton and cheered for Hatton against a fellow Mexican, Barrera showed great loyalty to Hatton with all the respect and friendship he showed him and when Barrera goes to Great Britain Hatton didn't even enter the ring for him? Hatton sided with an overrated ******* multi-cultural hype-hero image who he hardly even knows over Barrera the man who was on his side in a country foreign to Hatton over a fellow Mexican and Hatton does that? Oh then there's the fact he held out for 50-50 against Pac the P4P champion? UHM on what grounds does Hatton think he deserves 50-50 against the P4P champ and multiple weight division champion who beat ATGs ? "I BEAT MALIGNAGGI ;DDDD" **** off you greedy fat **** he pretty much uses his whole British fan base to negotiate deals and earn more money and the Brits fall for it? How can Brits seriously support somone like that? Yet we turn around and ****talk people like Carl Froch who are taking big risks to prove somthing to the boxing world? Wow.

The best parts yet to come though, Hatton trys to compare himself to Roberto Duran (HAHAHAHA) yet he apparently can't even go up 7 lbs without being made to look like a fool? "I'M UNBEATEN AT 140!" LOL SO? Who have you fought @ 140 that makes you think you're the best at 140? Kosta Tszyu? (LOL, over the hill and argueably winning until he quit for some reason) Uhhhh an old Castillo? Malinaggi? ROFL yeah you definatly proved you're the best @ 140. Oh wait you haven't beaten Kendall Holt or Timothy Bradley? and ducked Junior Whitter like the plague.

Sorry for the rant but honestly after seeing non-stop Hatton on my T.V (born and raised in England so I'm subjected to such bull**** if I want to see anything to do with Boxing on our T.V) about how great he is and how he made us proud by losing to Floyd I'm just sick of the guy. Brits wake up, Hatton is a **** he's bad for boxing. His brother's a prick aswell.

Even though it's harsh, I agree with you. But what really gets my goat is the fact that he keeps talking about "fighting for the pound-for-pound title".

How aggravating is that? It completely does my head in because every time I see an interview he mentions it, as though it's a belt that you actually win by beating Pacquiao. At the risk of repeating myself, Hatton comes across like he's trying to brainwash casual, clueless boxing fans who have no idea how the P4P ranking system works into thinking he's gonna suddenly become P4P #1 by beating Pacquiao.

It really is infuriating.

Hatton will never be p4p#1 in my book, though if he knocked out or very convincingly beat Pac, Floyd in a rematch and Tim Bradley i'd think about it! To me the p4p slot should be reserved for those who have not only beat every other top fighter in or around thier division, show consistency but to me they should have that style about them u know, box beautifully. Thats kind of why i resent Pac being #1, he has no technique.

That'd be like assuming every boxing fan in America loves Floyd. And I think you're making too much of an issue out of nationalism. Some people just don't give a **** where a fighter is from. Me included. He's either good or he isn't. The country makes no difference. A fighter can be from Mars and have purple skin for all I care.

That might be the dumbest statement i have ever heard and there are several ignorant posters on here who are saying this.

What in your eyes suggests that ricky is not a man of the people? What is there backing this?

The guy has a whole ****ing city on his back, not to mention the rest of the ****ing country... Why would tens of thousands of people fly across the world to come see this man fight?

I was at Hatton vs. Collazo, and the british fans would likely all take a bullet for this guy... I sat next to a british fan who told me how he has met ricky on several occasions, and that he is about as genuine as a man can get...

Whether you like hatton as a fighter in the ring, to say he is a fraud out of it, is absolutely ****ing ridiculous.
