Hopkins has a great chance of an "upset" here, Adamek is a good european fighter is a bit like the Klitschko brothers is being robotic. Maybe a good idea to come in at 185-190pounds so he can still move well, because Adamek can trade twelve rounds long. Obviously he wil need to study the Dawson vs Adamek tape. The idea of Adamek vs Golota is a silly idea!

Hopkins takes this one by UD. Adamek is proving that he has what it takes to be a solid champion, but he is there to be hit by a solid counterpuncher as Steve Cunningham proved in their exciting fight not too long ago. Hopkins should retire after this one, regardless of a victory or a loss. One of the best fighters in the past 25 years without question.

At age 44, he has every right to fight anyone he likes, he doesn't owe anyone anything, least of all internet critics like you.
I love Hopkins and I agree that he gets a pass, but I don't like the logic that says its because he is 44. He is a badass still and #3 pfp. He could really strive for greatness and try to outfox Chad. How about this, Chad went life and death with Glen Johnson and Johnson isn't fast either. I know their styles are different but Hopkins is a master, he can adjust. If he fought and beat Dawson, his ATG status would greatly improve.

No dispute there, but I presume he doesn't think he can beat Dawson at his age. Calzaghe and Taylor showed he has trouble with very fast fighters nowadays.

Little old me thinks he can and would love to see it! Talk about going out on your shield. I think a competitive L would do more to enhance his rep seeing what happened to Adamek vs Dawson. And that JoeCal retired rather than fight Dawson or rematch Bernard.

Hopkins is not the #1 light-heavyweight

Hopkins should not be ranked #1 light-heavyweight nor should he be ranked #1 pound for pound fighter. As long as he's too scared (and rightly so) to fight Dawson at light-heavyweight, to the point were he'd rather jump up a weight class to face the purely offensive fighter, Adamek (who never clinches), Dawson should be ranked at the #1 light-heavyweight. Dawson would destroy Hopkins. Hopkins, the second most boring fighter today (Klitschko brothers tied for 1st), is purely a defensive fighter, who does nothing but clinch. Hopkins is also a dirty fighter.

                      He isn't ranked #1, he's #3 (pacquiao, marquez, bhop)

You must be insane to call hopkins scared. The man is 44 years old and STILL fighting. That by itself shows he is not a man that is scared as he could have retired YEARS ago and people would have said he had a fantastic career. But he keeps going on for the love of the game.

Further, hopkins has stated numerous times at this stage of his career, the only way he can keep on fighting are fights that motivate him. Going up in weight (yet again) at his advanced age is quite an accomplishment if he were able to pull it off against Adamek. Think about, at age 40 and after losing to Taylor his fights are always tough fights no one things he can win (Tarver, Winky, Calzaghe, Pavlik, now Adamek). How does Dawson motivate hopkins?? Hopkins just beat a young 26 year old. Been there done that.

to the point were he'd rather jump up a weight class to face the purely offensive fighter, Adamek (who never clinches)
So you don't think it would be impressive that hopkins, at age 44, moves from 175 to fight the man at 200? To own the Ring Belts at 160, 175 and 200, that is not impressive, that is not a challenge? You're truly an idiot if you cannot see how impressive something like that is. How many 44 year olds, scractch that, how many 40 year olds do you see ranked in the top 10 p4p? How many do you see jump weight and win belts??

                      Dawson would destroy Hopkins.
Again, you must be an absolute idiot to believe in these words. You think Dawson would DESTROY hopkins??? Insanity!! I don't care if you believe Dawson would win, but to use the word destroy is an insult. Dawson BARELY got by Glen Johnson, a guy who hopkins DESTROYED many years ago when Johnson was much younger. In fact, Hopkins is the only man to ever stop Johnson, something Dawson never even came close to doing.

Hopkins doesn't get destroyed, it's not possible. He could lose, in very close fights, but he doesn't get destroyed, ever.

is purely a defensive fighter, who does nothing but clinch.
Right because against Pavlik he just clinched the whole night and didn't throw any punches??

Hopkins is also a dirty fighter.
And the sky is blue, your point? More of a reason Dawson would struggle big time with Hopkins, he's NEVER faced anyone on Bhop's level, never faced anyone as smart or crafty.

                      LOL @ Destroy.

Hilarious first post, thanks for the laughs.
