all depends on the circumstance
Do you look down on a fighter if he quits?

Depends on the situation in which he quits.
Peter's quitting against Vitali was okay because it was a one-sided beatdown, he was taking too much punishment.
Sykes quitting early against Povetkin was not necessary, he was losing but not being hurt too much.Comment

Disagree about Peter. While he was getting killed, he heard the open scoring and realized he couldn't win, so he quit.Comment

He's supposed to be a big puncher, so the fact he was being schooled by Vitali and was behind in the scoring shouldn't have caused him to quit.
No, his co-promoter Duva said he was taking too much punishment, and they wanted to save him for another day.Comment

I disagree with you about open scoring part, Peter was getting the **** kicked out of him from the opening round. He didn't even land one clean punch on vitali if I remember correctly. So, how would Sam Peter think he is winning when he hasn't landed **** on Vitali?Comment

Exactly...
Blaming it "open scoring" is a weak excuse for Peter's quitting.Comment

I don't blame Peter for quitting from the beating he was taking, say he quit in like the 10th or 6th round. It's due to the open socring though where he realized he had lost 8 rounds and saw no point to continue because he heard the scores.
I just think the scores were the reality check because in a fight you can get caught up. Peter still would have quit, but he quit at the wrong time. I look down upon that. I'm not discrediting Vitali's win.Comment
