If the guy has no chance to win and is just taking unnecessary punishment, its fine to quit. I dont want to see anyone get hurt, and it can ruin careers.
someone quitting when they arent doing bad in a fight or are barely trying is very annoying. like Raul Marquez vs Abraham. the guy had broken Abraham's ribs and had a smart gameplan, but quit because he couldnt tough it out.

in my opinion, its better for a fighter to give it his all and then quit midway through a fight if he has nothing left than for a guy to run for his life and survive the fight without trying trying to win at all.
    anyone agree?

Of course he would. I always thought as Chavez as a weak hearted fighter. The look at his face after Pernell demoralized him said it all

If the fight is still winnable for him, it's a ***** move. If he stands no chance of catchin up on the cards or gettin a KO by the time of the submission, no beef wit that.

If he gives everything but it ain't enough to win and he's health is in danger then your health comes first IMO and should get out of there. We shouldn't look down on any fighter who quits in the ring under most circumstances IMO. It's easy for us fans to watch from the comfort of a living room and say he should fight to the death but it takes some bollox to get in the ring and fight.

Really depends on the circumstances.. It's smart if all you going to get isn **** kicked until you're KO'd or have no chance of catching up..

Sometimes it's very good to quit before more damage is done.. And that works in relationships.. jobs whatever..
