marquez at 140 after a long layoff is tougher than cotto/mosley at 147 imo. And i paid 55 us dollars. That is almost 1/2 of what they paid in the uk. Population wasn't a defining term, cost is!

Why? Marquez hasn't even fought at 140 yet so how can you say he's tough at that weight? You can't until he fights there.

I paid the equivalent of $40 for the Hatton fight so there isn't a world of difference there. Selling more PPVs in a population of ~65 million at $40 is more impressive than 300 million people at $55.

Hatton is more popular and a bigger draw than Mayweather. End of.

Oscar/Hatton wouldn't do quite that well with other fighters, true. But doesn't mean Floyd is a huge draw. You only need to look at his other fights for that.

Oscar/Hatton would sell loads against anyone, whereas Floyd wouldn't. That was my original point.

It goes two ways though. Now Floyd will sell a lot more PPVs than he would have prior to Oscar and Hatton. Those two fights increased his drawing power. Look at this way. Oscar has fought some extremely powerful drawing machines in his career in some great mega fights. Yet the fight with Floyd does much better than any of those fights. The formula is everybody wants to see their favorite fighter fight Floyd. For the formula to work Floyd has to fight somebodies favorite fighter. Still the results speak for them selves.

marquez is like 140 at 135 right now. That 5 lbs wouldn't minimize his skills at all. But i understand wht u are saying,we'll just have to disagree with that point.



But $40 is not $55 dollars. That is what u paid + 1/2 of what u paid, that's a nice difference in change.

If hatton is the bigger draw, what other ppvs have he had and what are the #s? He hasn't had any other ppv and that is for a reason. Those people bought the fight becuase floyd was fighting and he is the best and they want to see him lose, not becuase hatton is that dude.
