but were talking about 135 dumbass. slick southpaw was statin once floyd went to 147 he was only interested in money but at 130/135 he fought corrales, castillo, chavez, genaro hernandez. he is rated more for what he did in the lower weights and were talkin abt a chavez vs mayweather fight at 135 where mayweather fought the best.
JCC > chico+chavez+genaro+castillo combined
he woulda never stepped upComment

since when did he have cracked ribs in the first fight? wheere the hell did that come from? I mean, if I wanted to I could make injury excuses for Castillo in that fight too, but whatever.
and anyways Im always talking about the 2nd fight, that Mayweather had a hard time with.
I really fail to see how a slight size advantage would make this giant of a deal, especially when Chavez is better than Castillo in pretty much every department...
there is little difference if any between Chavez and Mayweather when it comes to how much they weigh, and why would a shorter reach matter when Chavez is an infighter anyway, where being shorter and having a smaller reach is beneficial?Except for the Size factor. Chavez is shorter than Floyd and reach disadvantage. Are you saying Mayweather would somehow crumble to JCC pressure

Thats ******, Chavez would have had a major crowd plus a name, plus big money. Chavez had that hatton fanbase and an outstanding resume, he would have done it, plus it would have been at 135, where he took on ANYONE.Comment

this is a discussion fantasy/mythical match up, YET u said floyd would have never fought jcc.Comment

Whitaker had enough power to get his respect( who was never a knockout threat), i seen him stun Chavez on a few occasions and he also floored him which wasn't a flash knockdown. And about Mayweather's power, Floyd's knockout ratio at that weight was the ratio of a puncher. He didn't have that kind of one punch power, although he did stop the majority of the champions that he beat from accumulation. Hernandez, Chavez, Gatti( who i am not comparing to Chavez, just showing an example of Floyd's power in those lower weight divisions) all had granite chins. If Floyd couldn't punch, i don't think they would have been as hesitant about coming in as they were. Floyd's punchers were very precise and it was dangerous because of his hand speed, a lot fighters cannot cope with that combination.First off, I assumed this fight was at 135. thats where Chavez was at his best, and most people complain that Floyd is too small for 140 and 147, so...
Second, there is no way that Mayweather has enough power to even tickle Chavez. apart from the fact that Chavez wouldnt get hit by everything Mayweather threw, Chavez has laughed off some huge punches like they were nothing.
Mayweather never used a consistent jab, his lead right hand and leaping left hook was fast enough to work just as good as a jab. His reflexes and foot movement were so good that he could get away with it and not be countered by anything. And Mayweather wouldn't need a southpaw stance, if he boxes while putting enough snap on his shots, then the only thing he would need is simple movement( just as Whitaker needed) and to stay off the ropes, and that was basically what Mayweather always did.Whitaker did NOT only box, he did a variety of things in there, and Mayweather does not have a stiff enough jab to keep Chavez off of him nor does he have the southpaw stance.
and for the bolded part...what other great boxer has Mayweather faced that showed he could cope with the kind of pressure that Chavez would bring? oh right, Castillo. the lesser version of Chavez.
speaking of which, Id like to know what Castillo did better than Chavez. Lets face it, he IS downgraded Chavez, although thats not an insult to him. I really cant see anything that Castillo did better than Chavez.
You didn't answer my question but as for yours, Castillio was much bigger, bulkier and overall naturally bigger than both Chavez and Mayweather( which i have stated above) and that has more to do with it then you think. A guy who is actually Floyd's size wouldn't be able to push him back like that. You could see the size difference. Also, Chavez fights short which make him an easier target and in punching range against Mayweather, where as Castillio fights taller and uses his range much better. Julio didn't have the kind of reach advantage that Jose did.Comment

big money? brought a major crowd? isnt that what a DLH rematch woulda provided?
it made money...it made sense
maybe his SD win in the first fight proved to be too risky....too close for comfort
sorry, i have HISTORICAL evidence that proves floyd DUCKING the biggest challenges out there...whether it was 135 or 154...a beast like Chavez would have been avoided
ahhhh...yes...back to the 'remedial-comprehension' requirement....your post totally validates floyd's willingness to fight JCC
