Khan is an exceptionally talented fighter. His handspeed, combination work and accuracy are near the top of the scale. He's not a genuine power puncher. But his not feather-fisted either. (Rapid) accumulation of damage is what troubles Khan's opponents. And he has that horrible slashing style (a bit like Mayweather) that opens up cuts.

I'm not going to defend Khan's chin. It certainly isn't strong. But it's worth remembering that prior to Roach he went out of his way to make life hard for himself. Up to and including the Prescott fight there were very few defensive skills on show. He was a young kid who wanted to put on a show for the British people and the media (who haven't helped him in any way). When he entered the ring it was all about finishing his opponent in the most spectacular way possible.

Three points about the Prescott fight:

    1. What the **** was Rubio playing at? If your man has a suspect chin the last person you bring over is a big hitting, unbeaten Colombian who's hungry as hell.

    2. The punch that floored Khan would have knocked *anyone* in the weight division out.

    3. When the bell rang Khan pretty much charged at Prescott without a defensive thought in his head. It was sheer lunacy against someone with Prescott's power. Again, what the **** kind of training did Rubio provide? Khan should have had his gloves stapled to his ****ing cheeks. With a solid defence Khan may well have won that fight.

Hiring Roach was definitely the right way to go (or Mayweather Sr.). In the Barerra fight Khan's defence was a quantum leap beyond that shown in the Prescott fight. I'm sure he will continue to improve. The only worry I have is whether the bad habits he picked up prior to Roach will manifest themselves again when he's put under pressure.
    Agree completely

Khan will never go near Prescott again. Prescott has my respect. I loved how he exposed Khan under 1 min.

Khan will never get nowhere in boxing. He was hurt by a jab from Prescott.

He doesn't appear to have good defensive skills to compensate for his delicate chin, so when he next faces a prime world-class opponent he'll be KOed again.

Even old Barrera, blind in one eye, rocked him a couple of times in Saturday's fight. Before the cut, Barrera was getting the best of him, despite Khan being so much younger and so much bigger.

So why does the UK media hype him?

There are a number of better, more well-rounded young British boxers such as Kevin Mitchell, John Murray and Nathan Cleverly. So why do we never hear much about them, while the mediocre Amir Khan get so much attention?
he does want a rematch, get your facts right.hes exciting 2 watch,so what if hes got a glass chin makes it even more entertaining, and with freddy roach training him the other british lightweights wouldnt stand a chance

I dunno where you got "he doesnt want a rematch" from because he wil have to face him somtime in the future

Also do you all lack in that much faith in freddy, Manny's Trainer, arguably the best trainer in the world....hes taken khan under his wing, freddy wouldnt do that unless he knew khan was something special.

The hype is overwhelming. As if he is unbeatable.

                Well said.

If Khan had any self pride he would demand to fight Prescott again just to show that their first fight was a fluke!

But we all no that aint going to happen.

He'll keep fighting men who have to come up in weight to fight him so he is always the bigger man.

That's the thing, it's as if they DON'T know. Like him being knocked out wasn't even real. I guess they're pretty desperate.

I dont know who hypes Khan up, Is it us british fans who knew the boy has major flaw and critise him or the boxing experts??? Most boxing fans cant be fooled and we all know he needs alot of work to even suceed in boxing so i dont know who people think is hyping him up.

He won an olympic silver and he was the only british boxer at that games which propel him into the limelight when he cameback, Thats life so you lot should get on with it.

We do have better prospect in the UK in Mitchell, Brooks, Munroe to name a few but i dont think anyone of them went to the olympic at 17 and done something for their country.

You're out of your ****ing tree. Khan is an up-and-coming fighter who's looking to make a name for himself. His record has already been tarnished by one (brutal) defeat. Why on earth should he risk perhaps terminal damage to it by going up against the same guy now?

I hate this faux-macho bull**** that some of you guys spew out. Would you be as ballsy if it were you in Khan's position? I didn't think so.
