I just want boxing to grow on most dominicans!

I can't remember the team or player but I remember reading a story about how the manager of a certain MLB team had the players watch the Hopkins-Trinidad fight, I guess as some motivational type of thing. One of the players was Puerto Rican and was absolutely devastated by what happened and it ended up having the opposite effect of what the manager hoped for LOL

iwas really young at the time....i became an absolute hardcore fan in year 2000 (morales vs barrera, trinidad vs vargas). i thought trinidad was pretty amazing especially after the vargas fight which was a hell of a fight...he was one hell of a fighter. at the time he was truly viewed as a top 3, 2 P4P behind jones and mosley if im not mistaken....as a kid i was like..."why isnt this dude on knockout kings?" lol........now the fight i was a kind in awe of hopkins perfromance. just so masterful...since that time, he's been my favorite fighter...sure he says some things and does some things before fights that are unclassy...but he obviously does it to hype fights....hopkins has pretty much been my idol because of his story...respect to trinidad one of the all time greats..but hopkins was/is a master and of the true greats of our era.

I was a bhop fan long before the tito fight, so I knew he was going to win. Especially when he came out with the executioners mask, you just knew it right there. I just didn't realize it would be so ONE SIDED. That was Bhops best performance of his career by far. Forget pavlik, that version of bhop beats damn never anyone in the game past or present. Everything was perfect and that is his prime, mentally, physically, everything was at it's peak.

How I felt? Great. Like I just witnessed one of the great performances of the sport. Shocked a bit at how easy it was for bhop.
Definitely better than Pavlik's performance and in my opinion, the most complete, brilliant performance of the 21st century.

Devlin? He is a K.O waiting to happen lmao...His chin is that bad, Giovanni Lorenzo is good, still untested he lost to Raul Marquez in a really close fight, some say the point deduction did him in bad. Then we got Elio Rojas, who I can't find a damn video on lmao.

Good prospect is algenis medez, you should check him out on youtube but I wouldn't call myself a fan. People in my family are that nationalistic but I'm about the sport and honestly, a top dominican fighter would help the sport and bring boxing to life, for my dominican people. Sadly, we got Guzman and Edwin Rodriguez...not much

Mellow mood is talking about Fernando Guerrero. Fernando's following isn't even that Dominican oriented right now, it's more that he has Salisbury, Maryland and the surrounding areas on lock. Don't worry man, boxing in DR is gonna grow in the future, but the government actually has to put some money into it. When there's only 1, maybe 2 boxing rings in a city it's hard to get kids involved. I've been a fan of Guzman ever since he KTFO Hector Avila which was one of the only nationally televised fights in DR, but unless he fights and beats someone in a huge fight, he won't give it a huge boost. With everyone seeing what homie with the gold medal got that alone will boost popularity a ton.

Btw Argenis has asthma and it hampers him during fights so he has weak stamina. He hasn't looked that good in his last 2 fight because of it, losing one of em.
