Don't worry man, boxing in DR is gonna grow in the future, but the government actually has to put some money into it. When there's only 1, maybe 2 boxing rings in a city it's hard to get kids involved. I've been a fan of Guzman ever since he KTFO Hector Avila which was one of the only nationally televised fights in DR, but unless he fights and beats someone in a huge fight, he won't give it a huge boost. With everyone seeing what homie with the gold medal got that alone will boost popularity a ton.

Btw Argenis has asthma and it hampers him during fights so he has weak stamina. He hasn't looked that good in his last 2 fight because of it, losing one of em.
Damn, I didn't know...I'm left with saying ****!. Anyway, I'm gonna check out the guy you mentioned

As for Guzman, he should do what Paul Williams is doing and fight whoever is out there

I remember telling my uncle an hopur before the fight... "B-Hop won the fight before the first ring." And I stand by it. Tito was beaten mentally and could not adapt and overcome B-Hop, period.

i remember watching that fight with my family, and i was a youngster, but i knew of boxing somewhat, and my grandpa is a die hard. So i knew Boxers like Tyson, DLH, Tito, Sugar Shane and all that. I remember seeing a couple of fights of Hopkins before the fight when i was younger, and i thought to myself, this was going to be a great match. Hopkins made me a die hard Hopkins fan that night. He whooped Tito bad. My grandpa was tellin me "look how he hits him on the side the ref cant see, and how he grabs the back of the head and hits, thats from expeirence."

The only thing that annoyed me was George Foreman being on Titos nutt sack that night. Wasn't giving Hopkins no credit til he knocked him out.

That was one of Foreman's worst performances. I'll never forget how pissed Larry Merchant was at him that night.

me2. Because Foreman was saying if Hopkins wants to be champion he has to knock him out, but he was forgetting Hopkins was a Champion for years himself. And He was saying Hopkins was tired and that Trinidad was dangerous to hopkins, and this and that.
                i was getting irritated.

How about his constant "Trinidad is on the mark...that's it!"

Or..."Felix Trinidad is such a courageous fighter."

Larry: Why don't you want to give Hopkins any credit, George? He's fighting a great fight!

George: He's fighting a brilliant fight but that pressure from Tito, it just takes everything out of your legs...

                  wtf?

hated that night probably the worst night ever for me in watching boxing. I hated Hopkins and still do for throwing the flag twice.
