Ain't that the truth. Cotto fans always say Floyd ducked Cotto but Cotto has NEVER called Floyd out. Margarito did, (proved he wasn't worth it), Hatton (KO'd), Mosley (Ducked him 2x YEARS AGO, now wants big payday) Williams (too low on the totem pole) but NEVER Cotto, (Was too GREEN at 140 NEVER mentioned at 147) not even now when he is calling names out. Cotto knows his limits.

        All Good

If Floyd fights Juan Manuel Marquez then Manny Pacquiao. That's P4P #1 & #2 in the world!! Aka THE BEST, isn't it about fighting the best? Mosley/Cotto should be fighting each other to see who is the best at 147 then holla at Floyd. Cotto has the right idea by fighting Clottey & going for the titles, Mosley is too desperate to land a big fight because he feels that he is on his way out.
I say if a recognized lineal Champ at 147 develops then a fight would be interesting but right now Cotto/Mosley have absolutely nothing to offer Floyd Mayweather Jr, Marquez/Pacquiao do. Mosley wants Pacquiao and so does Cotto because he's the best. So why knock Floyd for fighting the 2nd best then going for the best?

Cotto and Tony fans should be pissed at Arum..not Floyd.

Bob was QUICK to say "We don't need Mayweather"

Floyd would have been RUN OUT OF BOXING if he chose Tony(WBO nobody) over Baldomir(just spoiled Mayweather v Judah to become UNIFIED 147 champ)

Mayweather chose the better fighter anyway.

Baldomir would have never been KTFO by Shane Mosley.

Vernon Forrest couldn't even hurt that mofo at 154.

There's no way Arum's letting Pac fight Floyd before Pac fights Cotto. That way he keeps all the money. The best scenario is Floyd vs Marquez, Cotto vs Pac, winners face each other.

And on to Cotto...This is NSB favorite son to beat Mayweather....NEVER WILL HAPPEN.

Is Cotto a monster and a bull...yes...no doubt..BUT....Hes also very easy to hit...and Floyd has shown the defense to negate body punching..and take away an opponents best punch....Alot of people think Cotto will just come in a bull rush Floyd....if he does that he will get his face shredded with very accurate punches....

This will be a close fight and Cotto will win rounds...but Floyd is too much for Cotto...I dont see him beatING Floyd...I can even see Floyd stopping Cotto.

                Fair Post.

Floyd himself said it's not about proving who the best is.
He contradicts YOUR own ideas and yet you choose to defend this him?

The fact that JMM is 5'7'' and Floyd is 5'8'' don't make it an even match.
Look at the weight history of their last 6 fights:

                JMM Floyd
                134.5 145
                135 154
                129 147
                129 145.5
                130 145.5
                123 140

Who's more comfortable at the higher weights?
                OF COARSE FLOYD'S GONNA WIN!
Better speed, 5 inch reach advantage, fought bigger men, Overall Superior skills.

Floyd's OWN FATHER says Jr's biggest fear is losing.

He takes fights he's SURE he'll win.
You talk about double standards. People say it's ok for Mosley, Cotto, DLH to fight a smaller man like Pac,
then turn around and say its not ok for Floyd. BULL!!!!!!

The difference is Mosley has nothing left to prove after everyone he's fought. Yet he & Cotto ARE FIGHTING EVERYONE.
THEY'RE WILLING TO GO AT THE POUND FOR POUND THE BEST:
                both Pac & Floyd!

"We’re rivals,” Cotto said. “Mayweather is a star of the sport and we’re in the same company. Mayweather was a great champion at 130 and 135. We don’t know about 140. When the company says the time is right to make the fight, I’ll fight him. I think it's a good fight. I know Mayweather's a great fighter. But I know I can beat him." - COTTO

I KNOW how good floyd is. But don't get suckered into thinking he's so good that he's beaten everyone in his generation before he's even fought them.
As his fan, you should DEMAND to see him up against the TOUGHEST OPPOSITION!

no need to respond to grustler and déjà. Same old lame ass arguments. Floyd was a great fighter at 130-135, but since 2002 he has ducked people, taken the easiest possibe fights, and fought in so many fights that fans usually are sleeping or booing by round 10. He is scary and knows that he is all hype. If he fought the same fights as a real fighter that started the same size as him like Shane, he would definitely not be undefeated. Shane would smash him

                    Floyd didn't duck ****.....FOOL.

Shane wanted no parts..he even blamed a toothache.

Tony and Cotto are Arum's pinatas..no way in hell was he going to let Floyd ruin his stable of donkeys after losing DLH and then Mayweather.

I'm a JMM and a Mayweather fan but I really don't see what the big deal is with this. First off JMM WANTS to fight Mayweather at a catch weight. Is it a good idea? Probably not, because of the small size disadvantages for JMM. However, its the skill level that is more of a disadvantage for JMM. He just isn't at Mayweather's level. But, Marquez is not going to roll over and die, he is a warrior with a heart that no other boxer has and is a top P4P fighter for a good reason. I really don't think the size advantages for Floyd are as big as some make it out to be. I mean this isn't a 6'1 Paul Williams coming to fight JMM, the size and weight difference are no that great.

Mayweather would obviously be favored if such a fight were to take place but this isn't going to be a walk in the park for him.

Can you really call this a tune up fight? I see it as a great fight and hopefully if it does happen, its simply the first step to bigger fights for Mayweather.
