POLL: Would Barrera have won if it wasnt for the cut?

Yeah, as I said in a post yesterday, older fighters whose reflexes are going have the toughest times against younger, faster guys which is what Khan is. It didn't help that Barrera is fighting in a weight class that's too big for him and Khan is a big lightweight so he would have lost with or without the cut. The way he was getting hit before the cut made me think that he would have gotten stopped one way or another later on in the fight had the cut not occurred.

Quick question, had MAB corner pulled him out at the end of the first, would it have been a retirement win for Khan or a NC?

I'd have to say that we just couldn't know if MAB could have won or not, as the first round Khan was winning but not dominating like the other rounds. MAB could have come out for the 2nd round improved having adapted himself to Khan's style and been able to avoid his punches more and pick more of his own. But due to the severity of the cut Barrera could do absolutely nothing for the rest of the fight, making Khan completely dominant. Barrera still hurt Khan at the end of the 4th, so with 2 good eyes you never know what might have happened..

If the corner stopped the fight it would have been a TKO for Khan, only the doctor or the referee can stop the fight based on the cut for it to go to the cards or end in a NC.

Not hurt per se, but he was rocked slightly by a right hook i think at the end of the 4th. If MAB had been able to see, he could have picked off more of these kind of shots and who knows what could have happened.

i agree!!he took a headbutt +literally 1 or 2 shots but was unphased!!
the fight was so one-sided even despite his excuses!, a rematch is unlikley!
barrera could not cope with kahn!!!! fact!! anybody with 2 eyes could see that!!!
it makes me laugh how so many people thought MAB would walk thru the" glass jawed british hype jop!" LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

This is what I was talking about - you can see he was rocked by these punches. Had MAB been able to see, he could have done more shots like these and the result could have been different in the end, as Barrera stated that he couldn't even feel Khan's punches.

mob was allways gonna be stronger later in the fight, i dnt think kahn wud have stopped barrea, so wat wud have happened in the 9th 10th 11th an 12th, with a fighter with a glass chin,,, All im sayin is you just dnt no!!!!!!
