I was thinking the same thing. Williams doesn't bring enough money to the table for Floyd to take a gamble on him.

I love it how people forget about Margarito fighting him. Clottey didn't fight him.

Paul Williams could be a problem for anyone at Welter Weight IF he fights tall and uses his boxing skills but if he tries to **** with some of them guys then he could be in for a rude awakening. Quintana in the first fight touched Williams up & in the rematch he caught Williams with a sneaky left but got KO'd by Williams. I think Paul Williams has the potential to be dominate but he has to continue to use his natural abilities to out box his competition. He has the chin, speed, decent power, height and defense to beat anybody but he has to fight smart! He dropped the ball in the first Quintana fight & paid for it big time, hopefully he learns from it and stays on his A game.

at first i thought that sugar shane might be willing to take on the punisher if he gets beyond winky wright. sugar is as we all know a very proud and combative warrior, and the fact that he lost to winky meant that if williams did beat wright, mosley would see it as a chance for redemption. but having re-thought it sugar seems to be looking for big pay days (hatton, mayweather) following the divorce and he doesn't do too good vs taller fighters so maybe the likes of nazm richardson will try and hold that fight back.

the only guy i can see taking on williams right not is clottey, if he unifies then i think clottey will be looking to take on the punisher, especially if williams beats wright he becomes a hallmark name. buteven then clottey is likely to pursue easier fights that are similarly lucrative, mosley, berto and hatton all make more sense than williams.

i dont see williams at 147 again, when the guy had a belt he at least bought something to the table, now he doesn't have that i dont see him being able to ecure a big fight with any of the big names.

No WW star is gonna seek a fight with Williams. It just doesn't make any sense.
it make perfect sense.... after quintana beat him, i dont see y he was still ducked. Paul is a hype job around here... he will be exposed by winky...... its disgraceful for a 6"4' human to fight at 147 lbs

The only guys at Welter Weight that had a chance at fighting Floyd was Mosley(Who refused 2x) & Cotto if Cotto would have stayed Undefeated by beating Margarito & then De La Hoya. Mayweather/Cotto made the most sense & Cotto was making a big stake at his title as P4P #1 but Margarito was his pot hole, speed bump & detour. It was heating up between them two and they had a rivalry and story going on. IF Cotto can unify the division then I say Cotto has the best chance to lure Floyd out but I don't see that happening. Williams is at the back of the bus once he gave that title up, he pretty much made it even more difficult to secure a big fight at 147. The only person at 147 that will be able to get Floyd out is the one who unifies all the belts becoming the Lineal champ, P4P #1 in the world and then live on TV calling Floyd a B!tch @$$, then I think he will come out. Hatton called him out, Cotto never did. The only one who has a chance at Floyd now is Pacquiao.

lol Of course he's willing to return to Welterweight, that's the only division where he's the obvious favorite in just about ANY fight due to his freakish size. Light Middleweight probably scares the **** out of him and he probably might not even get past Winky.

He beats most of Welter, though he should stay at Light Middleweight imo.
