Why DIDN"T FLOYD badmouth KOSTA TSZYU???

I remember the first press conference I ever attended. It was Mayweather-Gatti (for which Gatti never showed) and I was fortunate enough to be standing right next to Floyd as he did the media roundtable thing. He **** on everyone--you name them and he'd tell you they ******. It was hilarious and brilliant; the beginning of Floyd becoming a star. Then someone shouted out Kostya Tszyu's name. Floyd's eyes immediately lit up. "An A-class fighter!" he shouted back. Then spoke some very kind words on the Russian by way of Australia.

Guys like Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones (another big Kostya fan) show respect to him because they know how good he was in the amateurs; they know his pedigree. And Tszyu was a legendary boxer in the amateurs. Then went on to win a title very early then had a successful career. In my opinion, that's why Floyd respected him.

I think this is exactly it. You had to respect him especially if you got a look at how he beatdown vernon forrest.

This man did a lot if you look at his past especially, unified the belts including beating 2 men he was suppose to lose to Judah and Mitchell, both by KO.

I think the poster who was dissing on KT was out of line. KT was a humble and good man, he always wore the same shoes, gloves, and shorts. KT came from a terrible past to become a top 5 140 pounder in history. He had a brilliant career, and didn't fear anyone. KT was a 140 pounder to small to really go up in weight, though he was stout for 140 he would have been small for 147. KT was a great at 140 and you need to show some love to him.

Kostya earned respect. Floyd had no reason to **** talk him. Neither had much interest in fighting the other, and KT didnt ever badmouth Floyd. So why would he **** talk? Alot of big fighters like Floyd and Roy actually seemed to really like Kostya.

i agree,KT was a great champion,and there r still people on this site who call hatton a fraud even though he has taken the 140 pound crown from kostya and dominated since then

Hatton isn't a fraud he is just a bit one dimensional, run in throw punches hold. He also faced a kostya that was passed. I like Hatton good fighter, but there will always be certain fighters that can neutralize him.

well in 46 fights only one guy has beat him,and he was the best fighter in the last 10 years,so being one-dimensional must work 2 some extent

Well you have the slicksters, Collazo arguably won his fight, obviously Mayweather, Bradley would be a tough fight for him. Witter would also be a tough fight for him. I don't think just anyone who fights him will give him problems, I did say he was a good fighter and as of now is definitely the "man" at 140.

His defense goes as far as holding and his boxing ability is lacking. A jab and straight right would be a great addition to his speed, footwork, and power(which are all excellent IMO). His defense needs some help, his hands are held a bit low and his face first technique will kill him against another accurate fighter. Hopefully Mayweather can help him with these things, but he definitely needs some more tricks in his bag so that he can become a complete fighter.
