I remember the first press conference I ever attended. It was Mayweather-Gatti (for which Gatti never showed) and I was fortunate enough to be standing right next to Floyd as he did the media roundtable thing. He **** on everyone--you name them and he'd tell you they ******. It was hilarious and brilliant; the beginning of Floyd becoming a star. Then someone shouted out Kostya Tszyu's name. Floyd's eyes immediately lit up. "An A-class fighter!" he shouted back. Then spoke some very kind words on the Russian by way of Australia.

Guys like Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones (another big Kostya fan) show respect to him because they know how good he was in the amateurs; they know his pedigree. And Tszyu was a legendary boxer in the amateurs. Then went on to win a title very early then had a successful career. In my opinion, that's why Floyd respected him.

Yeah that's just insane, whatever the reason was. This was a guy toying with future champs wearing headgear. Credit to Tszyu for not wasting any time after turning pro.

Yeah - and to think his hand speed, combinations and foot speed were very impressive. I saw his amateur bout against Forrest on another site a few years back and was shocked to see him beat on a version of Vernon who looked like the much bigger fighter.

would it have made a difference? if floyd did fight and beat kostya, the floyd haters would just say that it was an overrated win because BLAH BLAH BLAH.

and if anyone thinks KT beats floyd, you are a hater PERIOD

Yeah but he was quiet as a mouse when Vernon was Champ...lol.

Kostya never dared to be great...he wasn't the most ambitious fighter around...that's for damn sure.

He didn't even enter the Oscar sweepstakes...hell...he even turned down Zab Judah's offer for a rematch for ALL THREE of his belts.

                Why turn down a chance to become UNDESPUTED 147 Champ..that's legendary **** for a 140lb fighter...especially against a guy he KO'd.???

                Damn..

He didn't even TRY to avenge that BRUTAL stoppage at the hands of Vince Phillips.

I think part of the reason he rips SRL is because he's from Michigan like Hearns and SRL whooped his dad. However, Tsyzu destroyed Roger and Floyd never says anything bad about him. Its very strange. I wonder if Roger actually told him some good things about him or something

Floyd was afraid that if he badmouthed Kostya, Kostya's rat tail would detach from his primitive looking head, and hunt Floyd down in the darkness of the night.

                      Real talk.
