Hey Erik Morales, you've been down a thousand times in three rounds, are you going to win against Pacquiao? If the answer is no... why in the **** would you continue? So you can get beaten up more? That makes 0 logical sense, and makes 0 logical sense to expect fighters to do that.

Hey Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya is torching your ass, are you going to win this fight? No? Okay, then you are forgiven for quitting.

If a fighter doesn't have a chance of winning at any point in the match, I'm okay with them qutting.

Freitas quitting against Corrales was SMART in my opinion. What the hell was the point of shortening his career by taking more of a pounding from Corrales?

Anyone who expects fighters to fight until they are dead are idiots... not just idiot fans, but idiots in life. I can't imagine anything that makes less sense than this ****** ideology of quitting means that the fighter is a coward.
It's the Warrior's code, ese. You can't understand it because you're not Mexican.

I'd rather die on my feet, than live life on my knees.
Well, I actually enjoy being on my knees, a lot. If you know what I mean, vato.

No, you're still not getting it, ese. It's the will to win, it's what drives the Mexican people, homes. It's why we risk our lives to cross the boarder in search of a way out, ese. It's why we never back down from a challenge, homes. It's why we'd rather die, than quit, ese.

No other group of people in the history of the world has that personality trait, except Mexicans, ese.

I know because some cholo down the street told me the same thing. Then he stole my chinos ese, true story.

You change in the middle of the post though. The will to win implies that there is still a chance to win. Morales did not have that when he quit against Pacquiao... he had 0 chance to win. His body was not responding, he could not take punishment, he had no chance of knocking Pacquiao out... 0 chance to win.

But rather dying than quitting makes 0 sense. If you would rather die than quit while you still have a chance to win, then I'm all for that, I agree with that, that is called dedication to the sport. But rather dying than quitting when there is 0 hope of winning is just idiocy IMO.

The armchair fans who expect this from fighters are among the lamest people on the planet too. Any idiot who criticizes Cotto for quitting on this site is a ****ing moron.

the greatest heavyweight of all time and maybe greatest fighter ever.

                      a man with unquestioned heart.

                      did he quit against holmes?

who gives a fuck? it happens to almost everyone. the fact that people remember it is a testament to their greatness. it was shocking that it happened.
